(5,602 posts)says that Donald Trump "is very depressed". I can't find anywhere in the research studies that sociopaths exhibit depression.
"Displays heightened levels of deceitfulness in dealings with others, which involves lying, conning others without remorse, or even using aliases
Inability to abide by the social norms and thus violating law
Displays aggressiveness and often tends to get into assaults and physical fights
Displays complete lack of empathy for others and their situation for which they are responsible
Displays no feelings or shallow feelings
Displays impulsive behavior which is indicated by the inability to plan for the future
Displays no concern for safety of others around them or self
Inability to sustain a consistent behavior that stems mainly from irresponsibility especially at work place or in other dealings
Displays promiscuous behavior"

(48 posts)If he were a real sociopath, he wouldn't toss toilet paper at weather victims; he'd pretend to care and make them love him.

(9,999 posts)After all, we know that he is always the victim when things do not go his way. Remember when he thought running for President would be a hoot and boost his ratings and brand? How's that workin 'out for ya? Time to Pay the Piper.

(1,602 posts)is actually a fairly significant component of narcissism, and while narcissists and psychopaths are both on the pathological end of the extroversion spectrum, they are not the same thing. The narcissist usually starts out in childhood when you have a mix of high expectations coupled with poor self-image. The child fabricates a facade that is bigger and more outgoing than they are, and starts projecting that to the outside world. This is a pretty typical pattern of childhood development, usually manifesting between the ages of eight and fifteen, and usually as someone matures the inner and outer selves merge. In the malignant narcissist, however, they don't - the inner person becomes even more insecure and the sense of maturation Nof identity never happens. People who are spoiled or otherwise privileged may develop this way as well because they are never denied something that they shouldn't have, but usually there is an abusive component involved with narcissism.
Narcissists become fixated upon their grandiose self. My own theory is that they also have a lower sensitivity to dopamine in their neurons, and if attention isn't on them (which stimulates dopamine absorption) then they become depressed, which leads into a cycle where the depression makes it even harder to get stimulation, so they make up excuses that put the onus of their not being stimulated on someone or something else. Cocaine can have this effect as well - cocaine is more easily absorbed by neurons, but in the process burns them out, so the more cocaine you take, the more self-absorbed you become and the more likely you are to become reckless solely to get that dopamine high.

(10,721 posts)But I suppose Whitaker could write a new mandate and very much limit the scope of the investigation. Rosenstein gave Mueller free reign. Rosenstein's mandate basically said that Mueller can do whatever he thinks is necessary.
And when Mueller had an indictment to announce, Rosenstein would hold a press conference. If Whitaker refuses to make a public announcement regarding Mueller's findings, we would still find out about them.

(90,335 posts)... going to get done wrong if the MSM can't stick together on this.

(10,721 posts)I'm guessing Trump will put severe limits on the scope and budget without actually firing Mueller, desperately hoping that doing so will keep the masses at bay.
