Couldn't Whitaker just share all Mueller evidence with Trump? (Original Post) sfwriter Nov 2018 OP
Maybe, but that doesn't make the evidence go away. Flaleftist Nov 2018 #1

If he hasn't been sharing info yet, wouldn't surprise me if he does.

That said, he'd have to do it in writing -- thereby generating electronic if not also paper documents -- so Trump can pass it on to his lawyers, b/c Trump doesn't have the attention span or patience to memorize hundreds of pages of evidence, statutes, etc. That leaves a trail which could be obscured, but probably not completely and permanently buried. Which maybe puts Whitaker in a legal jackpot at some date in the future. He seems like the kind of scumbag who thinks he could get away with it, though.

The defendant is entitled to know all the evidence a prosecutor has, that's what discovery is.

Yeah, there's sometimes an advantage to finding this out early, for instance you might think twice about lying under oath about something if you know the prosecutor already knows the answer.

But for the most part, cases are won based on having the goods, and the defendant knowing this doesn't help much.

What Whitaker could do is starve mueller did resources, slow down the pace, create makework, maybe even refuse to approve indictments, etc.

You are signing up for loyalty with a man proven to have no loyalty in return. He will take you down, ruin your career and leave you in the garbage heap of the rest of those who signed up to kiss the ring of Trump. Overstep and you could end up as one of the indicted. Hope it will be worth it.
