Why Is This Not At The Top Of The National News?

Can we please kick this?

An African-American woman won a seat in congress as a Democrat in a district that is almost 86% white and republicon leaning by +5 per Cook. It is also the seat that was held by the longest serving republicon Speaker of the House until 11 years ago.

Congratulations Lauren Underwood!! I used to live in that district. What you accomplished is no small feat. I know how narrow minded some people of your district are. I'll be in awe for a long time.

She was great. As a child, she had a heart condition and wanted to become a nurse like those who cared for her.
But that left her with a pre-existing condition, so she knows the risk of that without ACA. So she's very much committed to health-care issues, and worked with Pres. Obama on health education.

32 years old!

And it sounds like Rachel intends to follow up with her - she sounds like a great choice!

Congrats to her!

On another note, some more good news, Congrats also to Lucy Mcbath - 6th Congressional Distict in Georgia!! Thats no small feat either. Thats the seat once held by Newt Gingrich. So we might not have elected Stacy Abrams. But that was good news out of Georgia.

I hope the Kool-Aid induced daze they (wealthy America) have been living in is finally wearing off.

It took the world 6 years to defeat the Nazis and their axis friends. The way I see it, we have four more to match that record. I do hope though, it doesn't take as long.

In the primary she blew away 6 or 7 white men. The energy of her campaign against Hultgren was palpable and in fact I have never in 45 years living here seen anything like it. In the end the Hultgren campaign didn't know what hit them. It was an amazing feat
