He literally campaigned his ASS OFF for months which only resulted in possibly impacting a couple of Senate races and may have made the house worse. I am sure he really believed there would be a red wave because he is so caught up in how great he thinks he is. So as last night dragged on and suddenly seat after seat after seat start falling to the Dems in congress he had to be getting seriously depressed! He was probably feeling like we all felt two years ago only it could be worse for him because he knows he is a crook and he knows they are looking under all the rocks where the shit is hidden. This has to be terrifying! Maybe if he held the house he might be able to power and intimidate his way through the threat.
His first two years were no picnic with the Mueller investigation but he had both houses of congress and could basically play a lot of golf and get most of what he wanted. Now the house will be just like the wall he wanted but for him and not brown people, the fun will be over and there are literally dozens of things the Dems can start investigating. The Mueller probe is probably about to hand down some hardcore shit and all kinds of investigations will now be breathing down his neck every minute of every day! His life is going to SUCK for the next two years! He knows he is cornered and he is emotional and probably making bad decisions. He is going to start lashing out in anger with his wits completely gone and making things worse and worse. The more he starts to try to undermine these investigations the more guilty he will look and the more angry he will become. His decision making will deteriorate and everything will start crumbling down around him.
I believe this is where he is now headed:

(5,268 posts)Firing Sessions shows he is desperate now since all he can realistically do is to attempt to delay inevitable Mueller indictments and keep the findings under wraps until Dems take over House in January.

(12,288 posts)History tells us much...1957..to ...2018...the cycle is fascinating...yes it's a movie but gives insight to the time, the concept probably strong reality base ... came somewhat true in 1972-1974 with Nixon...now 2018...

(36,382 posts)Andy Griffth played Lonsome Rhodes' beater guitar on The Andy Griffith Show
When Andy was making the film 'A Face in the Crowd,' the movie people needed two guitars. One was a cheap-looking one used by his character before he became famous, and a fancier one when he became the successful 'Lonesome Roads,'" Boak says. "The prop master solved the problem by taking a beautiful 1958 Martin D-18, and without consulting anyone, painted it black and gluing sequins on the guitars sound board. On the front of the guitar, the sequins spelled out Momma and Lonesome. Momma was a reference to the name Lonesome Rhodes gave to his guitar.
After the film was completed Griffith was walking by the prop shop , he noticed the painted Martin in its case and "borrowed" it. After taking it home, he proceeded to remove the sequins and sand off the black paint down to the bare wood . This took him nine days to accomplish. In the process he sanded off the logo decal and pickguard. Andy seemed to like the look of the guitar without the pickguard and never replaced it.
He took the guitar to a guitar builder (John D'Angelico!) in New York City's lower east side to have the instrument given a new coat of lacquer and touch up to the wood.
Note: Andy also bought another martin D-18 around the same time and often played it on The Andy Griffth Show, but when you see the one without the pickguard, THAT's the Lonsome Rhodes guitar. There, that just about all the trivia I have on the film. Enjoy it.
