https://www.nytimes.com/2018/11/08/us/politics/ruth-bader-ginsburg-hospitalized.htmlJustice Ginsburg, 85, went home after her fall, but experienced discomfort over the night. She was admitted to George Washington University Hospital, where doctors found three broken ribs on her left side, Kathy Arberg, a Supreme Court spokeswoman, said in a statement.
The next sitting of the Supreme Court begins on Nov. 26, and Justice Ginsburgs history suggests the injuries are not likely to keep her away. She broke two ribs in 2012, without missing work. And she returned to work quickly after undergoing a heart procedure in 2012. She is also a cancer survivor and returned to work less than three weeks after having surgery.
Even as Justice Ginsburg has shown she bounces back quickly from health setbacks, liberals have become jittery about how much more time she will be able to serve, particularly with the balance of the Supreme Court shifting to the right because of President Trumps appointment of two conservative justices.

(11,552 posts)Ruth is tough as nails. I predict she'll be back on the bench in no time.

(11 posts)Did you see when she was on Stephen Colbert? She seems very old and things do not look good. I hope she can make it two more years.

Our local Noon news stated that RBG was admitted to the hospital "for observation", which means she'll fall into that insurance loophole where she'll be paying out of pocket for some of her stay. Those two little words - "for observation" - make a whole lot of difference. If admitted for treatment, most insurances will cover you completely. Once observation rather than treatment comes in to play, that's the insurance company's out card. Medications given won't be covered along with some services also. I learned that lesson the hard way.
I'm not saying RBG can't afford it, but I hope it's a reminder to keep these insurance companies in-check for how they rip off the insured. IMO, insurance is a nasty business.
