I hope the Democratic Party leaders know they can't rely on "working with" Trumpers.

After seeing the posts of Trumpers in forums, and seeing them on tv and in comments to news articles, I've seen that they are beyond hope. I've never seen anything like it. A total disregard for facts and truth. Relishing in hate and fear mongering. The refusal to show compassion or kindness or even caring for anyone other than Trumpers. Words can't describe it, but I'm sure we've all seen the same things.

I hope our leaders know, and I'm sure they do, that this will be war (Trump has already used that word when referring to the House), and that Trumpers (most of Congress) will not be people we can work with, come to agreement with, expect to be logical and fair, or anything other than what we've seen so far

The Democrats in the House will be going it alone (with our support, of course). As Pelosi said, they plan to do their job of holding people accountable, and checks & balances (paraphrasing).

This is going to be tough. Historical. Who knows how it will end. But I can't even think about not winning in the fight for our democracy. Because then what? My head can't go there.

I hope they know what's in store for them and are ready to soldier on. The attacks against them, and us, will be brutal. But if Trump did obstruct justice, and he or others did conspire with Russia to swing the election, he must be brought to justice. (Or at least the S.Ct. must allow him to be brought to justice. The SCT - another big concern for another day.)

if you were expressing concern about my judgement, much less that of the Democratic Party's entire congressional delegation. Of course, since I have a great deal of respect for Nancy Pelosi, and have read biographies about the highest-rising female politician in American history, perhaps I should be taking it that way.

It's not your imagination. This post is just a cleverly-worded backhanded insult that's aimed squarely at the Democratic Party, our congressmen and women, and Nancy Pelosi. It's just a perpetuation of ongoing theme of concern and doubts.

perhaps I should be taking it that way
And you would be correct in doing so. I'm glad you're calling it out because this type of cynical post serves no good purpose except to sow doubts about our party's competence and our party members/leaders intelligence. All I'm saying is that posts like the OP create suspicion and resentment and division. A divided Democratic party is a weakened Democratic party... and that ONLY benefits the GOP, and the Russians.

see this kind of thing, which is not unusual here (we're a collection of amateur observers, after all), if it might not just be a well-meaning manifestation of Dunning-Kruger syndrome. Lol. I think it's in the air we all breathe.

In any case, inevitably, maintaining illusions of superiority would require seeing those genuinely superior as inferior.

Trump is an unusually outstanding example proving it's a very real thing, of course. He has no experience of being knowledgeable or competent and can't comprehend the existence of either in others. “I know more about ISIS than the generals do, believe me.”

I very much resent your personally insulting post about what you think is in my mind. The post speaks for itself, and there is nothing wrong with it.

If you disagree, you simply need to KINDLY and professionally disagree and say why, in an honest response. Rather than projecting your insecurities and paranoia onto a poster who posted what is, frankly, an objective, respectful pondering of something that was on my mind, based on my observations in the past.

There is no division going on there...except the one you created by your insulting and rude post. Too chicken, even, to say it to me outright...you went through the back door to gossip behind the screen, so to speak, like a silly co-worker "she she she" behind a cubicle. Geez.

Seriously? "Insecurities"? "Paranoia"?? Now... THAT is a personal attack against me.

except the one you created by your insulting and rude post.
Good lord! Stop it! I was not rude to you. I wasn't even responding to you.

Too chicken, even, to say it to me outright
Oh how charming! Now you're accusing me of being a coward. Another personal attack against me.

gossip behind the screen, so to speak, like a silly co-worker "she she she" behind a cubicle.
Lovely! There's another one. Calling me a "gossip"?? A "silly co-worker"?? What good purpose does this serve?

All I'm saying here is that I find it truly bizarre to be falsely accused of having said something that was (supposedly) "personally insulting" ... only to be harangued with multiple name-calling personal attacks.

Now... you may not have liked what I thought of your post (I'll give you that) but that's a far cry from me having "personally insulted" you. I was not "rude" to you. My comments were about the nature of the post, not about you. I didn't engage in name-calling or personal attacks.

Okay, liking a politician is one thing. Worshiping at the altar and not accepting any criticism of a specific behavior is quite another, and borders on something I'd prefer not to mention, since I know you'd alert on it.

Instead, you just cease to exist to me. I don't converse with people who don't accept honest, balanced discussions about facts. Does that remind you of something?

I did already. Please refer to my post (#9) with many excerpts that quote examples of the name-calling aimed at me. In contrast, my critical words were specifically about the nature of the message contained in original post and did not resort to name-calling. All I'm trying to say here is that it IS possible to strongly disagree with someone's characterizations of our Democratic leadership without having to stoop to name-calling.

and there was no hidden conspiracy message there.

I was remembering the time that Pelosi & Schumer met with Trump and tried to work with him on DACA, when everyone knew you couldn't "work with" Trump on anything. Then they were almost giddy in their press announcement later that they had come to an agreement with Trump..smiling and happy. I didn't buy it, since I had been watching Trump for a long time. I doubt anyone else bought it. Sure enough, Trump reneged on the agreement that day or the next, mystified they thought they had a deal of any sort.

I guess it was worth a shot, and maybe Trump was really convincing in their meeting. Trump can turn on the charm, I've heard. But we all know his word is no good, and he was not in favor of DACA.

So that's what I was referring to. But Schumer, Pelosi, and Schiff have made it clear that they are going to be hard nosed and use our control of the House for everything it's worth.

That's all I meant. No hidden conspiracy meaning. No subterfuge. Just a simple post.

far ahead of what we amateurs believe we understand that the dust of their passing settled months and years, in a lot of cases decades, before.

Wow. The ancient phrase 'don't try to teach your grandma to suck eggs' just popped into my mind. Talk about something from decades before. Egg sucking definitely predates my existence, I'm happy to say.

other than to say "I'm smarter than the Congressional leadership" or maybe "I hope they are not as dumb as I think they are?" If you recognize that "Schumer, Pelosi, and Schiff have made it clear that they are going to be hard nosed and use our control of the House for everything it's worth" then I'm even more mystified about the purpose of your OP.

I agree with Hortensis and Nurse Jackie that it comes across as a put down and insult.

Let the American people know exactly who and what are stopping the things that need to be done in this country.

It will make great campaign materiel for the next presidential elections when we take back the Senate and the White House then consign the traitor Republican party to the dustbin of history forever!!

Strong and measured and resolute, without histrionics like Trump and his gang. So it seems to me like they have a plan and will go from A to B to C to D, and so forth, w/o any illusions of who they're dealing with.

Seems like a good plan.

this thread and when some people were upset about all they weren't doing on many others, Honeycombe8. This is the difference between becoming the house majority party in less than 2 months and being the minority party.

Wouldn't we all like to see this same empowerment in the senate and WH? The power the Republican Party was given in 2016? Something to remember on November 3, 2020.
