(6,621 posts)He reminds me of those guys who were always at college parties who'd try to get girls drunk, they'd figure out he was a jerk after about 5 minutes, & he'd be spotted barfing in the bushes as they left to go home with their friends.

Anonymous Fed sounds like a DU GD poster responding to the TV.

Can Rosenstein still announce indictments after Whitaker took over?
So many questions.

(102,205 posts)THus, his own representing lawyer sent. Rosenstein would likely be the only one with standing to do so.

(52,185 posts)my understanding is that whitaker isn't legally qualified for the post because he's not been confirmed by the senate.
until such time, rosenstein is acting attorney general because he's the deputy a.g. and there's a vacancy in the a.g. post.

(52,185 posts)let's say the courts agree, rosenstein is acting a.g.
donnie raises a ruckus and demands the senate immediately confirm whitaker or any other stooge.
is the senate really going to say no to donnie at this stage?
maybe this lame duck senate doesn't confirm him, but surely the next on will quickly in january.
so at best we have a couple months. that may be enough to get indictments in, but certainly not enough to get things to trial.
once a stooge is confirmed, the doj can basically just drop the cases donnie doesn't like.

(10,893 posts)That's the most obvious move.
If #3 doesn't comply, Trump keeps firing until he finds a Bork.

(52,185 posts)seems he was trying to short-circuit it by trying to appoint bork -- er, whitaker -- directly.
