Cops

Once again, a cop ran TOWARD the danger, saved lives at the cost of his own.

His wife is now a widow.

His son now has no Dad.
.
I know there are bad cops.

But I am grateful that many, many more of them are good.

Thank you, Sheriff's Sgt. Ron Helus.

For police and EMS who have to confront these shooters and these scenes and for the grieving parents of college kids;kids who went to a dance and now will never come home.

Meanwhile we have the military out for refugees “on the unarmed road of flight”.

Who knows how many more would have died if hadn't engaged the killer.

He's a hero.

I would venture to say that not all republicans are bad, not all evangelical Christians are bad, not all "pro-lifers" are bad. Sometimes though it's really hard to remember.

It never ceases to amaze me that cops I know are all for everyone carrying a gun.

pretty much a red area of the state but with an interesting mix of blue beginning to infuse the area.

Found out last week that up until recently the town was paying beginning officers just a little over $12/hour. Not exactly a salary that will entice the best people to apply for the position.

Like everything else, if you aren't willing to pay people to do dangerous, emotionally exhausting work you're going to get the stinkers who want authority and enjoy hassling and harassing citizens.

to have criminals in uniform fired and prosecuted, which is profoundly. When they're both, that's where sentencing comes in.

Sgt. Helus was the officer we all want sent when we're in trouble. A very sad loss to everyone.
