The thing is, with a Dem House Trump can't really kill the inquiry -- because now people with subpoena power can call Mueller and colleagues for testimony, and get the facts out anyway. In fact, this could be worse than letting Mueller finish and then sitting on the report 3/

as long as it's in the realm of public discussion, politics, etc., donnie can play his stupid games.
he can call it a witch hunt, fake news, whatever. and the media will at least give plenty of airtime to his lies.

what he can't do is b.s. his way out of an indictment.

so if he can shut down an indictment or stop the doj from pursuing legal cases, that's a clear win for him.


he'll take an embarrassing political discussion over an indictment any day.

is what's needed to show obstruction. It may not be enough to persuade Republican senators to vote to convict in an impeachment, but it'll be what either makes it impossible for Trump to stand again, or for him to lose and take down a lot of Republicans in the election with him.
