1. ratings. mostly, they're infotainment, not responsible journalism.

responsible journalism would make lying the story, and not give enormous airtime to the actual lies.

but many reporters, these days, seem to think their job is to be a human tape recorder merely repeating back anything donnie wants them to.

of course, with hillary, their job was to ignore her policies and only report about fake scandals made up by republicans....

They're just doing their jobs. You can't just give him what he wants. If they did, all the country and world would see is the Fox sycophants. It's kinda fun watching him borderline stroke out. He gets oranger by the day. And the way he walked away from the microphone as though he expected his bodyguards to take care of the problem or something. Musta forgotten he was at a press conference, not a rally. Guess it's not the lovefest he imagined.
