Wildfires rage in California, Trump blames 'forest mismanagement'

PARADISE, Calif. (Reuters) - Two monster wildfires burned out of control on Saturday in northern and southern California, having already killed at least nine people and forced hundreds of thousands to flee their homes.

President Donald Trump blamed the fires on forest mismanagement and threatened to withdraw related federal funding.
In Los Angeles County, the 35,000-acre (14,164 hectares) Woolsey Fire was threatening 75,000 homes and more than 200,000 people were under mandatory evacuation early on Saturday.

Some of the evacuation orders were for residents within the City of Los Angeles in the West Hills area. It was unclear how many homes have been evacuated within the City of Los Angeles.

This is SICKENING. Americans are literally burning to death and his takeaway is to threaten to defund the forest service.

Can you imagine if Hillary threatened to take federal funding from Houston after Harvey unless they fixed their “mismanaged drainage system”?

I read about 100 replies to his tweet to see how the drumpf minions were defending this one. I found ZERO supportive replies. I keep hearing over 40% support this monster but who are they?? Funny thing when I look out in the world I rearelu find a supporter. Sure they exist but four out of ten??? Just blows my mind that he has that much support. I guess because I live in Michigan and not a deep red state.

De-fund it.

Public Education. Environmental protections. Medicaid. Planned Parenthood.

Makes not one bit of difference if people's lives are at stake.

They are all cruel bastards and, yes, it boggles my mind that anyone at all would support this hideous monster. I live in a pocket of blue in a totally red state and it's very depressing.

I wonder if the possibility exists that these fires are being purposely set by right wingers. Maybe I'm falling into the conspiracy rabbit hole.

That is a rural area, and even here in CA, rural areas are predominantly conservative. But I do wonder about the one in the Malibu area.

It's who he is.

This is sickening. Beyond sick. He probably has told people that he doesn't care if California burns to the ground.

I hope he ends up in prison for the rest of his life.
