Former CIA, NSA director talks Trump

A former director of the Central Intelligence Agency and National Security Agency told an Erie audience Thursday that American society is drifting toward “post-truthism” under President Donald Trump and compared this moment to a three-tiered wedding cake...

“The first (tier) of this cake is that we are basing our decision-making less on facts, information and data, and more on feelings, preferences, loyalty, fear and grievances,” Hayden said during his 45-minute talk, which was based on his recent book, “The Assault on Intelligence: American National Security in an Age of Lies.”

Trump and his administration make up the cake’s second tier, Hayden said. The president intuitively understands these feelings and how people are making decisions based on what they read in social media. He (Trump) is also making it worse, Hayden said.

The cake’s third tier is the Russians and their efforts to influence American politics through social media, Hayden said.

Meddling in each other's politics has occurred between the USSR and USA since the Russian Revolution, when the Romanov Royal Family was unseated from power, in 1918. IMHO, the reason Teflon Don wants to curtail investigations into Russian election tampering is because Trump hired his own group of hackers to tilt election results. Any in-depth investigation would reveal numerous crimes Trump either committed, or ordered, to become president.

When I mention crimes Trump committed, like Trump University, where he cheated his students out of their live's savings on a second-rate real estate course, they quickly change the topic to a computer in Hillery's basement. Remember, the FBI investigation on Clinton took place, while voters were deciding whether to elect Clinton or Trump. For some reason, investigations into Trump are still incomplete, because he is able and willing to fire FBI Directors and key prosecutors, involved in the investigation.

2. kick hide this OP if you can Trump-trolls. I caught them by surprise on this popular, first OP:

Check out the number of recommendations on this OP, which I posted right after my return to Democratic Underground. Previously, I had been a homeless veteran for nearly a year. It received 140 recommendation, then a second Opening Post was extremely popular, Now, no matter how pertinent my OPs are they are quickly hidden, without enough recommendations to even be visible on the Greatest Page:

I apologize for not posting anything during that period; but I was living in a camper on the back of an old pick-up truck. It was difficult to find WiFi in the prairies and mountains of New Mexico. It was also difficult to stay warm, during the nights, when temperatures dipped below freezing.

It was first posted nearly an hour ago; and it is nearly 9:30 AM MTZ, here in New Mexico.

7. Thanks for the K&R, without any comment. It took much longer for ANY replies on this OP, than others

My first OP received 140 recommendations, with plenty of comments by other D.U. writers; and it was less pertinent and controversial than this OP. As anyone can see, I placed responses to their comments onto the O.P. after the replies by fellow D.U. members, on the above-listed Opening Posts.
