Surely a high percentage of his MAGAbase lost fathers, grandfathers and uncles in that war. 2 million Americans fought in WWII. Over 416 thousand died. And that in spite of the US late entry into the war. Every other country had far higher casualties because civilian deaths ran into the millions.

They are dedicated to performing their duty as the nations representatives. Trump can not phantom that it his duty as the president to attend important events. He is solely concerned about one person, himself.

When you think he can't act any worse he goes lower. He's so unhealthy and overweight he can't walk a block. The rain might melt his tan, ruin his hair do and he realized that he showed the world he doesn't know how to use an umbrella when it rains while any 5 year old knows how. So he cancels.

We are paying for this fucking trip so he can show is vanity is more important than being a decent human being.

That he thought about cancelling a speech because ... wait for it... grin... he was having a bad hair day.

It was appalling. Appalling. And he said this to high school students.

He knew that in the face of yet another national tragedy, he might cancel out of respect... but no. He had to make a JOKE out of it, and say instead he might have cancelled for his hair.

(As to Trudeau, at the end of one twitter thread, someone explained that that picture was of a Canadian military cemetary in Canada, where Trudeau had previously gone to in rain --- similar to the President and Michelle Obama pictures on a rainy day in Arlington. )

This article suggests that Pompeo and Kelly may go - https://www.standard.co.uk/news/world/donald-trump-cancels-trip-to-world-war-one-memorial-event-because-of-poor-weather-a3986586.html

I don’t think anyone would think less of someone who is 70+ avoiding a rainy cold event if they are even suffering from a cold. Pneumonia can develop and be devastating. But it takes a real man to admit that and say I need to unfortunately look after my health.

But I’m sure he’s just afraid he will melt.

That's one of the reasons the Germans started calling the Marines Devil Dogs. You know you're bad ass when the enemy gives you a ballsy name.
