Machine recounts being called for by officials
Should be a hand recount for Senate. Diff is only 0.15%. Hand recount can be done if less than 0.25%

The .15 percent margin is narrow enough to not only trigger a machine recount, which by law must be completed by Thursday, but is likely to result in a recount by hand across the state a complicated logistical task in the nations biggest battleground state.
The new tally in the governors race was not quite as close, but also met the threshold for a voting machine recount. Numbers posted on the state election website showed Republican Ron DeSantis leading Democrat Andrew Gillum by 33,684 votes.

...the claims of fraud by the president and the governor were undercut Saturday by the Florida Department of State, which said in a statement it found no evidence of criminal activity at this time.

(13,895 posts)I can just imagine a hand recount in Florida.. A Rethug lawyer looking over your right shoulder, a Dem lawyer looking over your left for every ballot recount..
And there will STILL be discrepancies...
Is there a fool proof way of doing an election vote?

(53,771 posts)That's what we have here in NV. You have to trust that your votes aren't switched.

(26,068 posts)As did Broward. Mine was two pages, front and back, and I filled them in with a pencil, then fed them into a machine. Very much like the GRE or LSAT. Handcounting is going to happen in the Senate race, and it will be insane! MILLIONS of votes.

(1 post)but from what the news reports here in FL the hand recount is restricted to the Under/over votes only and will only happen if the number of over/under votes is great enough to change the outcome, regardless of whether it is under .25%. That said I have been watching this closely and the numbers of over/under votes I hear bandied about is around 11k with 9800 being in Broward. If we lose the signature mismatch case Wednesday I hold little hope of having my favorite Senator Nelson back. I don't hear anyone giving Gillum a path to victory either way because the over/under votes for governor are far fewer. I heard around 2000 but they are from red and blue counties. BTW the signature mismatches were only 3,504 back on 11/3 (the only number I can find) and at least some of those will be R votes. I am still holding out hope cause we NEED Gillum and Nelson but I am not deluding myself either.

Sickening that he was allowed to raise his approval rating far above deserved, due to camping out at the Florida tragedies with a microphone and his NAVY hat.
I guarantee he views his dwindling lead as more of a tragedy than any of those areas he camped out at

It is god damn fucking ridiculous, sick of it.
