My mother was one of the kindest and most tolerant persons I have yet encountered. She was

very big on trying to live by the Golden Rule. She was very big on bring "nice". She---and my dad--- told me they did not care if became a ditch digger or a brain surgeon just so long as I grew up to be a "good man". And, I have tried to be.

I mention this only to provide context for the following:

Consider just a handful of the Republicans who either just got elected or are currently leading in the vote count: Cruz--- Blackburn---Kemp---Scott---DeSantis. Their perceived or actual intelligence or competence just really don't matter.

They fail Mom's basic test: they aren't "good people".
