Hey Republicans and Trump fans - your 2nd amendment rights are not under attack. Your 1st are.

Your 1st amendment rights are under attack. And you know the really fucked up thing? You're cheering it on! You cheer it on every time your president calls the press "fake news" or when he booted out Jim Acosta and yanked his press pass in a total partisan power move.

And every time free speech rights are under attack, no matter which side of the fence you're on, we all lose. Freedom of speech is the one thing that makes this country stand out above all else. But it seems that you're more interested in the amendment that follows it - the one that says the right to "keep and bear arms" shall not be infringed.

You know what else shall not be infringed? The first amendment. Which states - and I'm quoting exactly:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

It says it right there in the constitution. Let me explain that in terms you can understand. When you sign up for a website you're presented with a very long list of rules called a "terms of service agreement". The constitution is a terms of service agreement for the United States. And Trump has been repeatedly violating this terms of service agreement since his first day in office.

And you're egging him on and cheering him on. You egg him on every time you show up to one of his Deplorable MAGA hate rallies, and you cheer him on every time you say "lock her up" or call the press "fake news" or threaten to murder somebody anonymously on Twitter for saying something you don't agree with. Or any time you want to jail or kill gay people, minorities, and immigrants, you are violating your TOS agreement.

And yet every election you guys SCREAM at the top of your lungs about how your 2nd amendment rights are being violated. But not a damn thing about how your first amendment rights are being violated. And while nobody is going to touch your precious kill things, they could touch your thoughts and your vocal chords and your right to think and say what you want to say.

So keep your precious kill toys. I'm not at all concerned about someone coming to take them away. I am however, completely terrified that someone might be coming to take my first amendment rights away. And you know what? Another 4 years of Trump or someone equally batshit crazy, that is a very real possibility. Which would put the US on par with other countries who have abolished free speech rights - like Turkey, the Philippenes, Russia, China and countries who are flirting with fascism like Brazil, Poland and Italy. Is that where you want to go? I know I don't. So keep cheering him on guys, you're only hurting yourselves in the end.
