Retaking the Senate is a must.

If Mitch McCocaine opts out of running next year, that'll be as good a sign as any that a Democratic majority is in fact about to happen.

His puffy, brittle ego could never stand the prospect of being demoted to Minority Leader.

...let me explain. the Repukes put districts in a 55% to 45% Rep. advantage. But that outlook was that reliable, white collar, well educated suburban voters would always vote Republican. This past election proved otherwise. If those voters remain as a part of the Democratic coalition, those districts become reliably Democratic.

We can't pick off 30-40 seats back to back, not without even more GOP retirements than this time, and it's guaranteed to be many fewer, not many more.

The most favorable seats just fell our way and some of them are immediately vulnerable to flip back.

The generic House margin dictates everything, not the status of individual races themselves. Unless independents slant as heavily in our direction in they did this time, we'll be fortunate to maintain this number, let alone gain.

Let's understand how successful 2018 was. Trying to pretend we can win another 30-40 seats is like pretending we could regain the senate in 2018.

because they will draw the district lines after the 2020 census.

People move. Demographics have changed in many areas making them more competitive, especially in many suburban areas. Gentrification in many cities have encouraged lower income minorities to move to the suburbs. And many African-Americans from the rust belt have been moving to states in the south and west for quite some time making the more competitive.

State level control..

Hopegully Trump and Republicans are glowing with radioactivity.

Convince a lot of white working class that Trump is indeed full of shot.

And it all in the GOTV game ... Polls dont fucking matter one bit.

Doug Jones is the only Democrat in a heavily red state.

A lot more Republicans have to defend seats in 2020, though a good number seem to be pretty safe numbers-wise. Corey Gardner of Colorado is probably the top target for Democrats. I think Perdue, Tillis and Ernst are possible if we can get good candidates.

too many Republicans sitting in deep red states up for re-election. Hopefully, we can get a few more Republican retirements and get some exciting newcomers in some of those states. And, maybe Beto can knock off Cornyn?

Oh, and we have Susan Collins up in 2020 as well.

If they think backing him will cost them their seat they will get their knives out and we'll hear a lot of the "thing" saying
"et tu". It's kind of a good news bad news thing and might make it harder to flip the Senate. I'm hoping they stick with the "name I won't mention" until the bitter end. Generally most presidents lose popularity over the course of their term and he's been underwater a long time. Even most"deep red" states have about 40% Democrats so you only have to change 5% of the voters minds to have a competitive race. Beto proved that a good candidate can be competitive in a Red State if you don't run as a Republican. It's time to quit being afraid of the Red State label. They are human, too and face the same problems as the rest of us.
