Hyde-Smith Won't Answer About 'Public Hanging'

November 13, 2018 at 9:02 am EST By Taegan Goddard 42 Comments

Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-MS) was peppered with questions about her “public hanging” comments caught on tape over the weekend, but each time she refused to answer, referring reporters back to her prepared statement, the Jackson Free Press reports.

Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant (R) defended Hyde-Smith by trying to change the subject and implying that black women are participating in “the genocide of 20 million African American children” through legal abortions.

The video of the news conference is worth watching.

I don't even think she comes off well her for her fellow racist deplorables, frankly.

are both a couple of low-life scumbags of the first order. She's a public servant and must explain racist behavior or get the hell out of public life. People like them should be publicly hounded and embarrassed about their behavior by the majority of decent American citizens.

Her comment referred to the state sanctioned murder of, quite often, innocent people of color. My mother and her entire family are from MS. My granddad and grandma were both born in the 1890's and my mother was born in 1921. Some of the stories I heard growing up, not many but a few, were revolting. One murder took place right next to my grandparents house in Holly Springs! Nothing ever came of it.

How Hyde-Smith could make a comment like that, knowing what it is in reference to, turns my stomach. Shame on them both.

20 MILLION.

Did he just grab that number out his own ass or did he have to climb up HydeSmith's ass to reach that number???

And wouldn't these racists want to encourage this practice?

I mean 20 MILLION African American children, mind you these are children already, they didn't even get the chance to be an infant, or a fetus.

My my what a country!

The openly racist community indeed wants to encourage abortion generally, believing that intelligent white women do not abort.

We should recognize that the pro-life movement—this is not the alt-right, this has nothing in common with identitarians, and I think we should be genuinely suspicious of people who think in terms of human rights and who are interested in adopting African children and bringing them to this country and who get caught up on this issue. We want to be a movement about families, about life in a deep sense, not just “rights” but truly great life, and greatness, and beautiful, flourishing, productive families. We want to be eugenic in the deepest sense of the word. Pro-lifers want to be radically dysgenic, egalitarian, multi-racial human rights thumpers—and they’re not us.
