Can you imagine Donald & Melania doing that?

(10,094 posts)I so so so so loved when she would give him grief at public appearances, it always make me crack up. One, she was always right (of course) and two, because you could tell he enjoyed it even though he was being made fun of.

(884 posts)I have no doubt that this is how he would view it himself, and I love him for it.
Having her is a blessing, and one that he richly deserves.

(17,604 posts)...the day its released. It took me 8 hrs to report all the unverified buyers who left bad reviews on Hillarys book. It dragged her star rating down to 2 at one time. By the end of the day it had re adjusted to 4-5 stars.

(32,577 posts)Just hit the "Report abuse" button that's under each review.
You don't even have to give a reason any more because 99.9% of the time, the reason is obvious anyway.

(2,760 posts)I had a friend go on to Amazon to do one on my book and they wouldn't let him since he didn't buy a copy. I had already given him an autographed copy so, of course, he didn't buy, but I needed every review I could muster up.

(2,760 posts)After 50 years of travel adventures, I had a friend who nagged me until I wrote my first book, "Safari na Paka" which is travel with Cat in Swahili. That was the one they wouldn't let him review, but I have two more since that time, "If you haven't been pinched, you haven't been to Rome," and "Planet Earth Vagabond."
They are basically random vignettes of my cultural interactions around the world and my travel philosophy.
Thanks for asking!

(27,794 posts)Throws a little shade at Melania's quintessentially non-American story too, and I'm having an internal debate over whether that's intentional!

(9,656 posts)the evident, long term love and respect he has for his wife. Four sentences.
The difference between that and the one who currently occupies our house is stark. His daily output of incomprehensible gibberish is stark too. But more like stark, raving.......

(54,276 posts)Because: to make any kind of coherent comment dissing the book, he would have to actually read some of it. There's about as much chance of that as there is of him jogging from the White House to Capitol Hill and back on live TV and in red MAGA shorts.

(54,276 posts)Fate doesn't seem to have one pre-designated schedule for everyone. I found my life's partner when I was 22. My sister didn't until she was twice that. My dental hygienist back in Dallas didn't get married until she was 57.

(37,648 posts)I think the problem is that I am drawn to inferior men. Oh, if I could start over, knowing what I know now! Cute and sexy in a guy only gets you so far!
But you never know. Men tend to want younger women, so there's that, too. It's fine. I just marvel at the luck some people have, meeting a soul mate. Oh, well. No point wasting time on regrets. Thanks for your kind response!
DFW
(54,276 posts)For the record, I admit to being drawn to younger women. Well, one in particular. My wife is 3 months younger than I am.

(37,648 posts)Doris Day is sweet on Brian Keith's character, but thinks he is sweet on a young "chick" she saw with him that night. When she goes home & gets into bed, she talks to herself about it, and resigns herself to the fact that he likes the young chick. She says, "Well, why ride a bus when you can fly?" LOL.

(5,810 posts)and discovered they had already downloaded my order for Michelles book. So, even though I knew better, I started reading it. I stayed up just a wee bit too late reading. Yes, it is good and very engaging. I just slept a little longer today but thats ok, too. Its my birthday.

(81 posts)What wonderful role models these two lovely people have been in their years in public life. Their love for each other is inspiring as is their mutual respect. And if I may add one thing, Mr. President, she is really beautiful! You're a lucky man.
