About Mueller's Grand Jury: Do its members change over time?

About Mueller's Grand Jury: Do its members change over time? Is a brand new jury convened every time? Or is he still working with the same original members he's always had from the very beginning?

Does anyone know how it works?

1. Not an expert on how Federal Grand Juries in protracted investigations like this work

But, in general, once a grand jury is empaneled its membership doesn't routinely change (until its proceedings are concluded). Of course extenuating circumstances, illness, etc can necessitate a change, but it's not regular order.

A judge can extend their term another 18 months, but no longer than that.

I'm not an expert, but I read about this a while back.

3. Done jury duty once, but it replaces your work timewise and was fortunately just a couple of weeks

Does someone have to commit to 18 months of not working...at least regular hours? If so, seems to greatly restrict the average person in favor of spouses or the wealthy.

So you end up with people who have flexible or part time jobs, retirees, stay at home parents with kids in school or relatives to watch the kids.

5. We were told it could last for 18 months when we signed on.

Fortunately my Employer paid the difference in Jury duty pay and regular pay. We only sat maybe a dozen days total. And we knew in advance when we would be called.

Sometimes,as per the Federal Clerk whom does all the real nuts and bolts of Paneling, they will in detail tell those whom are selected as to the length and time commitment, and if it is a hardship the Panelist will be excused, much like regular Jury Duty. That was the case for Me as well as when the Brother In Law was called.

Somewhat widens the pool. Also, means a lot of travel time, parking, food, etc. Civic duty, and all.

GD. For me,it was nice to take the Transit right to the Fed Building and Court House. When we finished, back on the Bus and away I go,only had about a half block to the Bus Stop from home. That is the advantage of living in a Progressive Metro Area.

9. Totally. This was back in the 80s when a trip from an LA suburb to Downtown

took 45-1 hr at rush hour at least going in, parking was outrageous and there weren't many decent food places around. And I lived right off a freeway. I think I read they now have new condos and a more residential-friendly area. Thing is, the cost is often very high...so six of one, half a dozen of the other?

I'm sure someone living in LA County can fill me in...been a long time.

was a good half hour and we had special Bus lanes during Rush Hour. Hey,in the Winter,it was a treat not to have to go up into a Parking Ramp and crank a ice cold car or battle the slippery roads for at least a hour and half.

11. When they put in the special lane for more than one passenger....that really screwed things up.

You'd watch the car pools whiz by and want to throw out a tack strip...LOL One guy got cited because he had a blow-up doll in the passenger seat...LOL!!! Being a long time Angelino, buses, well...you know. And they really didn't run well into the suburbs much anyway. Why? Because we all had cars. Vicious cycle. They had just finished the 605 Fwy...60s-70s Lost count after that. Lots of memories.

have priority for Buses during designated rush hours. It works so well that that will never go away.
