Could he possibly be any more of an asshole?

My grandfather served in the 101st Infantry, Yankee Division, Massachusetts National Guard. He, along with his unit, was one of the first American soldiers in the trenches of France during the "War to end all wars." I have his Purple Heart. I don't know if he was part of that famous battle, but have no doubt that he left friends behind in one of those graveyards dotting the French landscape.

The Orange Shitgibbon chose to disrespect their sacrifice and the hallowed ground in which they lie because of a little rain???

My grandfather's service, and my dad's and uncle's during the war against fascism, inspired me to serve during the war against rice paddies. (I didn't see it as such at the time. What can I say? I was young.)

This "man" is a disgusting excuse for a human being, never mind a Statesman!!

and to be a "war president" (echoes of W) to guarantee his re-election.

I'm pretty sure he's itching for one and if it happens, God will need to save us as that black cloud of chaos that hangs over his head will make it even more chaotic than his administration.

When he looks in the mirror he sees a cowardly blow hard. A man who cheats workers out of their pay, cheats on his wife, and every American by his total disrespect of every citizen with his gross malfeasance as president. He should be shunned as being as much a traitor to his nation as was Benedict Arnold. He is trashing ever agency of the government with lies in a futile attempt to defect from his gross incompetence.

Mencken's prophecy has been fulfilled in our time. We have succeeded in putting a moron in the White House.

He didn't serve. Nobody in his family has served, going back at least 3 generations. He just doesn't care about the military, beyond how he can exploit it for his own vile purposes.

Your grandfather was in some important battles:

The 9th Massachusetts had been protecting the Mexico–United States border near El Paso, Texasfrom 18 June-22 November 1916, and was prepared for other such mobilizations, which would prove to be vital in April 1917, when the United States joined the Allied Powers during the First World War.[2] In order to prepare the regiment for service, it was redesignated the 101st Infantry Regiment, and was assigned to the 51st Infantry Brigade of the 26th Infantry Division, the "Yankee Division." The 102nd Infantry Regiment was also assigned to the 51st Brigade. The regiment mustered in its new form on 22 August 1917 in Framingham, Massachusetts and arrived in France in September. It was the first Army National Guard unit of the American Expeditionary Force to arrive in France, and was also the first National Guard unit to enter frontline combat.[2] Alongside the French Army, the 101st made a raid into German lines on 23 February 1918, marking the first time an American unit had launched a raid in the war. Commanded by Edward Lawrence Logan, the 26th Division, including the 101st Regiment, engaged the Germans in numerous battles along the Western Front including; the 1918 Spring Offensive, the Third Battle of the Aisne, the Second Battle of the Marne, the Battle of Saint-Mihiel, and the massive Meuse-Argonne Offensive. It was here in the Meuse-Argonne Offensive that Private First Class Michael J. Perkins from Boston, earned the Medal of Honor. While advancing with D Company, 101st Infantry, he single-handedly neutralized a fortified pillbox with grenades, and captured 25 prisoners and 7 machine guns with his trench knife. The bloodied regiment was mustered out of service in April 1919 at Camp Devens.

You probably know more about his service than this, though.

I actually know very little about his experience. He didn't talk about it, at least not in my presence, and I was still young, (middle school), when he passed away.

Why should we foot the bill when Cheeto couldn't be bothered to show up for the memorial ceremonies? He should be billed for the plane ride for himself and Melania whenever he pulls this shit.

Otherwise he can take his own plane to Europe.

We have all learned, to our deep sorrow and anger, that when you see the outrage du jour (or a l' heur?), he is quite willing and able to top it in the next 24 hours. Or less.

As has been said by everyone, ad nauseum, he is a man-sized (super-sized?) child who has been turned loose with an individual power that was beyond even his wildest fantasies until about two years ago.

A psychotic lives in the White house.

Honorable mention: "Be best"

Imagine what the millions of soldiers who lived months at a time in rainy, wet trenches fighting for freedom would say about a President blowing off a memorial in their name because he didn’t want to get his squirrel’s nest toupee wet.

I know one, A USMC Viet Nam veteran who was absolutely obsessed with anger over it and cannot repeat the words he used to describe this POS.

Just ask the people in California who lost their homes, millions of sexual assault victims, toddlers ripped from their families...

Vets should have seen this one coming in 2016 when he doubled-down on the gold star family. Or the many horrible McCain comments. Or the time he accepted a purple heart from a legitimate recipient and muttered "I always wanted one of these" despite multiple deferments for goddamned bone spurs. Anyone who didn't see this coming was being willfully blind.
