Had a thought getting dressed this morning...

Kasich announced that he might be interested in running as a third party candidate in 2020 and it occurred to me that it was the first move of the Establishment Republicans to regain their strength and come surging back. They always play the long con, you can never overestimate their fiendishness. Given the climate of the country, the Republicans have been flushed as a majority-winner party nationally and the water is circling the drain. By getting rid of Trump for a second term and conceding the WH to a Democrat, they can begin to rebuild their favorite position: the opposition party of resentment and hate of the "Liberal" establishment which is defined as anyone to the left of Attila the Hun. I believe that they realize that they erred in allowing Trump to manhandle their candidates during the debates and probably believe that he was unwittingly set up to believe he could run and win by none other than the Clintons, who preyed on his narcissism.

Now I'm certain that Hillary never expected to lose to this fool, but therein is a different brand of narcissism which all political candidates and office-holders possess. However, Trump, while destroying the morale of the nation and breaking it into open Civil War in many senses, has served to undermine the right wing by his Marx Brothers approach to running the Executive Branch. This unintended consequence has demonstrated to our rather dull electorate that these people are really bad for the average working man and woman, AND that you can't be an ignorant, psychopathic, malignantly narcissistic fool and be successful as a President.

We have bottomed out and I do believe that with the exception of the deceased Charles Manson, America couldn't have found a worse celebrity to become President. (I understand there will be many nominees for this position, but it's a figure of speech, so stay calm.) We are on the precipice of a 24/7 story which will cause many to lose sleep as we slog through the impending nightmare. Stock up on coffee and No-Doz. It's gonna be a ride.

He's obviously dealt with elections and diplomacy all over the world and he said that candidates generally expect to win.

I believe he will run but wait for 2024 and sit this one out if Trump runs again, all the while building up his reputation as the new "maverick".

4. I don't believe they think they erred

If they did there are remedies built into our system of government to fix that and they refuse. Pence would enact the same policies as trump. Any republican in office would, without the sideshow. It is the sideshow they want. If they didn't trump would be gone. They could have impeached trump at any time and they continue to suckle at the orange anus. Even now, after the shellacking they took at the polls they continue to prop up trump. Refuse to investigate, refuse to do anything good for every day Americans. Their outright lies continue.

They are losing one of their biggest voting blocks...white women. Instead of saying hey, where are we going wrong with women; Graham is out there saying we have a "women problem." Who remembers their "some girls are easy to rape" year? When they lost women that year their only take away was that their messaging was wrong, not their policies. They can't seem to grasp that women want control over their own bodies. They think their problem is how they are phrasing not letting women have control over their own bodies.

Because they have so little regard for women they have no problem with men like trump being in power. What's a little sexual assault and rape to them when they believe that women are nothing but stupid, lyin' wh*s anyway? And because of that women need them to tell us what we can and can not do. That we need them to tell us how to behave.

Republicans have also not learned trickle down economics does not work. Basically all their polices do not work, but they just tell themselves that they don't work because their policies are not conservative enough, so each election cycle they put forth more conservative candidates. Until we have the current crop of republicans we now have. Where no policy is harsh enough, all rules & norms are being washed away. Lies can be told.Laws can be broken for what they believe is the greater good.

Then they whine about how deprived they are and it is always someone else's fault.

5. All this is true and

It has always been true

My contention is that no way do they impeach one of their own: they don’t do those things. But they know that they need to regroup and they probably won’t figure it out this time either. But I think they’ve given up on this asshole. He’s a liability.

All they care about is winning. They just lost the House. So, okay, they'll deal with that. But Trump is still the President that gave them and their donors millions of dollars in the form of a permanent large tax cut, two far rightwingnut Supreme Court Justices, pushing anti-illegal immigration and anti-refugee, and all the rest.

I read somewhere that they knew, and said, that Trump would sign anything they put in front of him. It's good to have a stupid President. He doesn't even know the questions to ask about things, and wouldn't ask them, if he did. Forever obsessed with being on tv, tweeting, McBurgers, having his Press Secretary represent that he had and has the largest crowds of devoted supporters, etc.

10. To republicans trickle down economics do work as planned

The rich get richer, and the rest get a "trickle" if they're lucky.

They even gave away the game in the name "trickle" which is a combination of the words "trick" and "nickel" as in: we will trick you into accepting this nickel, and nothing more.

13. Republican policies DO work. They just aren't honest about their goals.
Thu Nov 15, 2018, 11:53 AM
Nov 2018

Their goals are to put as much money and power in the hands of the already wealthy as possible. There are not interested in upwatd mobility fir the folks at the bottom. They NEED a large slave base to work at the shitty jobs that pay shitty wages for their megacorporations, whether it's Walmart or some hell-on-earth coal mine.

They're anti-abortion because they know that poor women will not be able to travel to obtain a safe, legal abortion, so they'll just have another child to grow up in poverty. That poor kid will grow up to work in another shitty low paying job, go into the military, or end up in a for profit prison.

They say they're against illegal immigration, but do NOTHING to the employers who hire undocumented workers. Face it, who would be picking tomatoes, processing 10 chickens a minute in Arkansas or scrubbing toilets in Trump hotels. They may not like those brown faces, but they know we need them to do the shitty, low paying, often seasonal work that American citizens simply refuse to do.

In "Brave New World" all people were in classes based on their biology; Alphas were at the top and the semi-retarded slave class, the Epsilons, were at the bottom. When they didn't have enough Epsilons THEY JUST MADE MORE.

8. If Trump runs and Kasich runs as third party, that would split the vote.
Thu Nov 15, 2018, 12:36 AM
Nov 2018

There will be loyal Trumpsters that will vote for him and the more reasonable (??) Republicans would vote for Kasich. That would almost guarantee a Democratic win. Am I wrong?

republican policies are trumpft policies. kasich would do pretty much every thing trmpft has done - just look at his record. kasich would just be less obvious.

Dems won the house this time, they will win the senate and presidency on the strength of their policies and candidates...don't need no stinkin 3rd party spoiler.

That exploded all over the state! I watched Firemen traveling all over with hige signs on their trucks, along with Teachers and Police.

1.3 million signatures delivered to Columbus, an over whelming vote against him. Kasich hid for several days then announced the people have spoken.

He still cut education to the bone to fund Charter Schools that stole the tax payers blind, ending in the EPCOT ONLine School scandal,at first 27 million, now up to 80.

DeWine was taking money from them, yet voters chose him. They are nuts. First bill, stand your ground, next will be right to work.

Yet some call Kasich moderate! He is not!

15. Wait, I'm not suggesting that Kasich is reasonable - I know his record well.
Thu Nov 15, 2018, 04:47 PM
Nov 2018

I am saying that old school conservative Republicans that do not like Trump could peel off and vote for Kasich while the Trump loyalists will stick with Trump. That would split the Republican vote and that would aid the Democrats. If someone primaries Trump and wins, then the Republicans will vote for that candidate. But a third party run could only help us. Having said that, I don't know that we need help after these last disastrous years.
