Remember that viral town hall where a guy scorned his Congressman for trying to take away his wife's health insurance?

That Congressman was Tom MacArthur, architect of the Obamacare repeal.

He just lost reelection.

back in the spring. He is the nicest, most unassuming person you will ever meet. He gave a speech. He was one of three candidates who were running for various offices to come to our meeting.

So you can imagine my surprise when I saw him featured in attack ads by the GOP. They called him a radical left winger and cast him in an image where he looked like Che Guevara! Maybe some of my fellow New Jerseyans or New Yorkers can recall more details of this ridiculous ad.

MacArthur infuriated so many of us with his stance on the ACA. I am so happy to see him go down in defeat.

But the rest of us citizens were out in force. I drove around with a homemade sign that covered my entire bumper for two months leading up to the election:

I thought...for him to be saying those things, and then later craft the repeal of the ACA....

Anyway, so glad McArthur lost. Another one bites the dust.

Seemed legit to me; I remember it and I'm glad it helped bring down the Repuke.

BTW it's not easy for everyone to confront politicians face to face at town halls. I've done it, and it is very anxiety-provoking (unless you're a seasoned public speaker).

Could be he had prepared it ahead of time. It didn't seem impromptu. There's nothing wrong with that, because that's what he wanted to say. But I thought that it was McArthur speaking, in the past. Which means it would be totally false.

I misunderstood.

Who is Andy Kim? Meet N.J.'s first Asian-American congressman

"I never thought that I would run for Congress," Kim said. "But I also never thought the representative from my home district would lead the charge for taking healthcare away from millions of Americans."

I wish we knew the name of that husband who spoke so passionately to save the ACA from the Republicans who are determined to permanently destroy national healthcare. Not your ordinary citizen.

My son came home from medical school to vote against this asshole. I couldn’t believe it was MY congressman who engineered Obamacare repeal when it was all but dead. NJ 3rd district is blood red and my county, Burlington County NJ, came out in droves to vote MacArthur out. Don’t feel to bad for the asshole, I hear he is worth about $35 million.

I heard he was born into poverty so he knows what it is like to have to struggle. He even had a special needs child who died, yet he still votes the Republican agenda. This was after he became wealthy to the tune of around 32 million in net worth.

Republicans are fearful of the Democratic hoard that will take all their money away. They succumb to the propaganda, so concerned that the govt may give food stamps or cell phones to the poor or abused woman. Rs are the biggest scary cats I have ever seen.
