Sinking Cities on PBS

https://www.pbs.org/show/sinking-cities/

Fascinating and scary. We watched the New York, London - earlier this evening - and next will be Miami.

As the engineers and city planners debate issues and probable solutions, I was thinking that how we rely now, in New York, London and other cities on 200 yrs old systems: underground, sewer systems and how it is impossible to upgrade them, or to tear them down and start anew, with modern technology.

We, the public, want the service but are not willing to pay for it. Or are not willing to demand that the wealthiest pay more. Even if they do not use public transportation, if it will collapse, they will be unhappy when the "huddled masses" will block the arteries.

Hey, if someone is willing to pay to rebuild, say, the A line and change the name to... Trump, fine let him.
