Let's think about this with Polosi...

Mueller has convened a Grand Jury, and 45 is flipping out having his attorneys come up with his answers to Mueller’s questions.

If you’ve read any one of the 30+ indictments you know that Mueller is not screwing around.

If we get into January, and Pelosi wins to become Speaker of the house, who is an experienced progressive who knows how the government works, vs. an inexperienced failing businessman, we’re in business.

In the coming weeks 45 is indicted for collusion, and Pence is collateral damage and is indicted as well or has to resign to keep face. Both are removed from office, but I think 45 just says "fuck it" in the Celebrity Apprentice Presidency and quits.

Pelosi becomes President and we can take a breath and work toward repairing all the damage that has been done to this country.

With Drumpf, the American dream is only possible if you’re asleep.

We can fix this with our eyes wide open. Let’s not fuck it up like the Banana Republicans.
Keep our heads about us and let’s do this right.

the President is required by the 25th Amendment to appoint another Vice President. So if Pence resigns for any reason Trump would appoint a VP (probably one just as bad as Pence) and the Senate, still being GOP, would confirm the appointment. If Trump left office first, Pence would become President and he would promptly appoint a VP. The only way the OP's scenario could come true is if both Trump and Pence left office simultaneously, really in the same instant, before another VP could be appointed.

If Pence is in trouble, they'll have him resign first and elevate minority leader Kevin McCarthy to be VP like they elevated Gerald Ford from minority leader in 1973. Then Trump can walk and the Presidency remains in the hands of the GOP.

The GOP will never go along with President Nancy Pelosi just like they would not go along with President Carl Albert (Speaker in 1974)

If Trump goes, it is more likely to be President Mike Pence or President Kevin McCarthy
