The next Congress

Pretty clear at this point that, in as much as the voting public could with few exceptions, rejected everything this Republican Party stands for and rejected their president with as much force as was possible.

That should be their takeaway from this election but it should be our own as well.

Why does our takeaway matter?

Because I don’t want “bipartisanship” or Reagan quotes coming from Democrats.

There is no redeeming qualities in Reagan. He was nothing more or less than an incompetent criminal, no different than the current republican in the WH.

On these ridiculous calls for “bipartisanship”, the simple answer is: “No!”.

Why? Because they support the criminal in the WH. Because there are criminally indicted republicans in this administration’s cabinet. Because they literally have indicted (corrupt and very guilty) criminals that were elected by other republicans, in congress.

Because republicans are morally and ethically bankrupt to the very last old white male in congress.

Why should we support “bipartisanship” with people that voted, EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. OF. THEM to repeal the ACA over 50 times? That have supported and voted in favor of the harassment and demonization of immigrants?

Why should we support “bipartisanship” with people that have shown no inclination toward it while they were in power? In fact their every action was to belittle and humiliate Democrats while knowingly and willfully supporting an administration with indicted criminals and a turnover rate not even acceptable in a McDonalds?

No. That is not what people want. They want backbone. They want action. They want a party that stands up for itself and stops taking republican bullshit.

Give the people what they want.

What are the objectives? To repeal laws that are inimical and hurtful to the American people, and to enact laws that are beneficial to the American people. So to the extent that Republicans want to join with such votes is not a problem for me. I don't care what they tell themselves about why they do it. If it's to prove to their constituents that they're reasonable people, or they care about their welfare, or that they've a change of heart and mind -- I simply don't care. I already know that they have no moral compass, are venal to their core, and lie more than a rug.
