Jim Acosta Speaks After Judge Rules in Favor of CNN's Lawsuit: 'Let's Go Back to Work'

by Ken Meyer | Nov 16th, 2018, 10:59 am

Jim Acosta gave a brief address on Friday after DC District Court ruled in favor of CNN over the lawsuit they filed against the Trump Administration on his behalf.

Judge Timothy J. Kelly ordered that Acosta’s press credentials be restored after the White House took them away after his recent clash with President Trump at a fiery press conference. After CNN attorney Ted Boustrous delivered a statement on the ruling outside the courthouse, Acosta was given a chance to speak.

“I just want to say something very briefly, and that is, I want to thank all of my colleagues in the press who supported us this week, and I want to thank the judge for the decision he made today. Let’s go back to work. Thank you.”

The other 4 Rs don't give a shit about the constitution when it's not favorable to their side, so only Roberts can protect the fee pres, but will he?

Credentialing authority for WH press originally was the purview of the White House Correspondents Association. The power was ceded to the WH Press Office a few decades ago --- horrid mistake. This WH has misused that authority to allow credentials to stooges, shills, and even white nationalist sympathizers in order to dilute the power of the watchdog press.

Reporters covering Congress, OTOH, have their access codified in rules, via a Standing Committee. No such protection exists for WH. As we have just seen, huge mistake and needs rectifying.

A measure is afoot to seek protection via "People's Bill Of Rights For White House Transparency" through Congress. See the same-named FB page. The measure was written during the Bush 43 administration, and revived in 2016F

If credentialing power resided with the peer organization WHCA, Acosta would never have been relieved of his press pass.

Check out and support the measure on the FB page.
