we are currently up 36 seats.
there are 6 races remaining that are not yet called. *all* of them are currently held by republicans.
we are currently ahead in 3 of them, so if we win these 3, that's 3 more seats to bring our total to 39 seats.
that's a better result than most models predicted.

so much for the blue wave fizzling out.
some savvy posters here warned that the election results could be a drawn-out affair, especially regarding california.

(13,877 posts)A thorn in the side of many Californians due to time zones. As in, often it's already decided before the vote count is in, and the fear that it discourages voters to make the effort to go vote. Can negatively influence down ballot races.
For decades the request to hold all vote counting/reporting until all time zones have voted. Doesn't seem likely, however.
Yeah for the Blue Wave...may it continue to engulf the weary Tumpanzees.
