"turning" implies there was some sort of positive, mutually-beneficial relationship in the first place; based on the evidence of his life, I'm not certain Trump has ever had that sort of relationship with anyone, even his parents.

Seems like a complete sociopath, actually.

And his governing "experience".

You mean the lackluster job he did in Congress when he was an Indiana rep? I can't think of anything impressive or noticeable that he did during that time. Had to look it up. Six terms (which is 12 years), three bills sponsored - that appear not to have gone anywhere.

You mean the abysmal job he did as Indiana governor, when that "my religion trumps your rights" bill he signed seriously hurt his state, economically, because of all the business/corporate/convention boycotts and bad press coverage it launched?

that strategically or that subtly. Think a three year old. They only know what's in front of them. That's Trump.

Who knows why he's currently doubting Pence's loyalty to him. It doesn't matter. What does sort of matter is that Trump thinks that everyone in the government serves at his pleasure, which is the only thing he knows. He was always able to hire and fire at will, and honestly thinks it's that way everywhere.

For whatever reason, he'd like to replace Pence with someone he thinks would be more loyal. I sincerely doubt it has anything to do with future pardons.

25. Here's how to tell if this is the correct interpretation:
Fri Nov 16, 2018, 03:03 PM
Nov 2018

Trump is highly likely to conclude Pence is not loyal. Why? Because he trusts virtually nobody. And even people he did trust, to varying degrees, have recently burned him (Cohen, Weisselberg, Gates, etc). He's only known Pence for ~2 years and the relationship has been entirely transactional so far. And Trump has virtually nothing new to dangle in front of Pence as a potential reward. In fact, as Lawrence O'Donnell points out, in Trump's mind the best possible reward for Pence would be to behave disloyally and help oust Trump.

So if Trump IS thinking this then we can expect him to behave thusly: attack Pence before Pence can attack him. Throw him under the bus with Mueller and in the press. Make him appear to be in jeopardy so any accusations/evidence from him look like an effort to save his own skin. If we see stories trashing Pence from the Maggie Habermans and Robert Costas of the world citing unnamed White House sources, we can conclude that Trump and/or Jarvanka etc have concluded Pence is disloyal and that his disloyalty is a threat.

Maybe somebody with a calculating mind like Steven Miller sees Pence as a threat. After all, if Pence turned on trump, Steven Miller would lose his access to the top.

The question is: How do the Dems impeach without starting a second Civil War? Don't forget--it won't be between states with the Mason-Dixon line safely bordering us. It will be between neighbors and relatives in all 50 states. And the RWNJs have most of the guns.

The safest thing to do is have the House reject/obstruct everything Trump & McTurtle do until the Orange Menace gives up and quits. Let Veep Micro Penis give him a pardon, then Booker/Harris/Brown/Warren/Swalwell or whomever can be elected in 2020. The Dems can also capture the Senate on those coattails and the good guys can make America truly great again. We'll even get Obama on the Supreme Court after impeaching Kavanaugh.

A happy ending.

I hope the Mueller is waiting until after January 3, 2019. Then on January 10, 2019, he lowers the boom, indicting the entire Trump family and naming both Trump and Pence as un-in-indicted coconspirator in dozens of criminal charges. Both Trump and Pence resign, with neither legally being constitutionally able to name a replacement. Tough path and likely won't happen, but I wish.
