.

WTF?

A bunch of jobs that force employees to compete against each other, with screens at each workstation showing how one is doing against their "fellow" employees/competitors. The Amazon facility in South Jersey has an 80% quit rate on first day and a 90% quit rate after a week. Employees are expected to fulfill 132 boxes per hour, less than one every 30 seconds, which includes, forming the box, filling it with packing, locating and filling the merch, which could be hundreds of yards away, confirming the order is met, putting in packing material, taping closed, processing packing label.

The rumor is that bathroom breaks are dissuaded and folks wear depends and pee in their pants while working.

Amazon is taking us back to the day where people slaved away in textile mills and such.

from their employees pay checks? I know that New Jersey is one of the 16 states that allows some companies to do that as part of an incentive package.
