Question about the next speaker

I’m a bit confused- this is not intended to be inflammatory. I am seeing things cross my feeds- mostly from people who were pro-Hillary in the last primary- attacking Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for challenging Pelosi for the Speaker position. I have not seen this. I know she’s been vocal in wanting to see things move further to the left, but I did not get the sense she was intending to run for Speaker. Is she? Did I miss something? Or is this a proxy re-fight of the 2016 primaries?

I will say, I personally like her, but also think Pelosi is our best choice for Speaker.

Anyone have insight on where this “Who is this upstart trying to steal Nancy’s leadership?” stuff is coming from.

And it would be nuts for a young freshmen to contemplate any such thing.

I thought I saw her say somewhere where she is open to supporting Pelosi as Speaker, but I'm not sure.

(Paraphrasing) that if there were a Leadership battle, she would not want the only other option to be to Pelosi’s right. Not putting herself forward or dissing Pelosi, just saying if we do go there, the whole spectrum should be represented. That’s really all I’ve seen so far.

I have not seen the name of a single proposed alternative to Pelosi.

There's no way that she, or any freshman, can be Speaker; she must know that much. She did say she's "open" to supporting Pelosi, so we'll see what that means.
