Who is doing something similiar in Texas among POC? Latinx/Latino/Hispanic (what is the proper term) as well as Af Am groups?
I am asking because I don't know and Texas will need a Georgia style effort for the future.

(58,785 posts)she has herself formed to continue this fight in Georgia. It's far from over, as far as she's concerned.
You know, we have hundreds of people in congress who would have this ALL taken care of now except the constitutional amendment to reverse Citizens United IF people had voted us the power we expected to get in 2016. We had a huge blue wave right up until the fall, but then blue suckers let themselves be suckered, and it all had to wait for us. Now, instead of both houses and the presidency, we have the house, but that's huge in its way.
In January our new house democracy reform task force, which is expected to be headed by Rep. Sarbanes of MD, will hit the ground running with a huge package of reform bills.
Don't be fooled by the few items mentioned on this Brennan Center link. Each is a heading with many bills under that category. We are undoing and repairing the corruption Republicans installed in our government, building in more safeguards for democracy, and doing new things that should have been done long ago if we could. Like automatic universal voter registration, for just one.
It'll take a while to undo Citizens, but in the meantime we'll get government funding of campaigns up and running so even people running in low income districts won't have to take big-donor money to compete against well funded Republicans. And so the voters know who's who. We'll require dark-money donors to reveal themselves and the amounts donated. We'll slam the door on donations to super PACs from foreign governments (gee, which party would have made THAT legal? ). Just for 3 examples among many.
Voters spoke loudly in favor of voting rights and reforms for redistricting and campaign finance

I think the Democratic party is underestimating the personal power she brings.

I really would have liked to see her as Governor. But, we get to look at KKKEMP for the next four years and listen to his mouth full of tobacco sounding drawl.
