1. This isn't a slam-dunk for Kaepernick even wanting the job, I'd imagine.

The name of the team raises some questions for somebody with Kaepernick's values. Snyder's politics may be relevant here, but they aren't even close to his worst failings. I gather Gruden is one of those coaches who thinks he can pass his way out of everything with a perfect system, and failure is the player's fault. And I'm not sure how badly he would want to spend the next however long as the special friend of the local resident lunatic.

On the plus side, I understand he really wants to play football, he is clearly the best unemployed QB right now, I think the fans would like to have him, and he might actually enjoy a chance to engage with Trump. I wouldn't blame him if that were enough to make him want the job, but the negatives are worth mentioning.
