'Never seen things this bad': Soy farmers fume as their crops rot in storage thanks to Trump's trade

wars!

U.S. farmers finishing their harvests are facing a big problem – where to put the mountain of grain they cannot sell to Chinese buyers.

For Louisiana farmer Richard Fontenot and his neighbors, the solution was a costly one: Let the crops rot.

Look at what happened in Tennessee, with the Trump hugging Blackburn. Farmers there are getting killed, but they voted her in.

Cities and big surburbs have an international market from which to feed themselves. My sense is those markets will be used more frequently as the urban-rural divide in ideas and cultures continue to grow.

And now they'll be facing losing their farms. Just like auto workers did, just like the Carrier people did, and many others, and all losing out because he lied to them. Now the markets are crashing downward and will hurt his supporters the most, he'll once again offer up some excuses , and accuse others from what he and the gop have done to us , again. All while he and the gop have taken health care away from millions more, and they have given trillions to the wealthiest people in this country ,and corporations. Remember he claimed he'd have a better health care plan with lower premiums, and everyone covered, and claimed he'd have all the answers for making things better for everyone? Remember.

Trump was voted in because a lot of whites can't handle the increasing diversity of the country, and they are paying the price. Worst part is, they will likely do it again, because racial anxieties trump common sense.

Can't do it, of course, but I wish.

What's happening to many farmers is an unfolding tragedy, and I feel even for Trump voters, but there's far too much irresponsible, and frankly often malicious, indulgence in hyperpartisanship, and the more those indulging reap the consequences the more they're regret it and pull it back in.

Farm and rural areas in states was why we lost a couple seats in the Senate and didn't totally wipe republicans out in the House. Our gains came from cities and surburbs. Farmers saddled up and voted republican in large numbers, they will continue to do that. Are there liberal farmers? Yes, there are a few, but those people are also among the most innovative farmers.

Sorry, I don't feel sorry for farmers. When they start welcoming our democratic politicians to their towns and farms and listen to the alternatives that they offer, then I will be more open to caring about their issues.

significant weakening of support by conservatives for the Republican Party in the midwest and significant gains for us. We need more weakening of support for 2020.

For sure conservatives aren't going to have a personality change, but some have shown they will vote for candidates who promise to stop what the Republican leadership is up to and that number is likely to increase as disasters and scares of all types increase. If it had to happen, such a shame all stock market gains for the year weren't wiped out 3 weeks ago, then started climbing again after.

The food market for cities and surburbs is an international market. Those places won't suffer as family and small business farmers go belly up. That trend had been happening under Bush, Obama reversed it and raised farm incomes across the board, but farmers responded by giving republicans landslides. Screw them, we will get fed while they vanish.

Mocking the farmers who fell for a con. Were they the only ones? Let's recall the miners and factory workers who also fell. And while we are at it, let's not forget who sit every Sunday being primed by haranguings from pulpits. And then there are those who are just greedy and want to get rich quick. Sprinkle all with racist and misogynist beliefs. On and on. Plenty of Trump patsies out there who have fallen for many promises.

In rural, mostly farm states, democrats won ONE seat, lost about five, republicans were handily reelected in most. When rural people and farmers learn how to help themselves politically, then we should engage them, but they have to LISTEN instead of make Fox News driven assumptions.

have implemented that benefitted the country.
I can name 3 but they have a hard time coming up with a legitimate program.
Most say tax cuts.
I remind them that is not a program and the tax cuts hardly ever benefit the country.

The 3, I can come up with is
1) National Park System (Teddy Roosevelt)
2) Interstate Highway System (Dwight Eisenhower)
3) Environmental Protection Agency (Richard Nixon, although he only signed it because congress had a veto proof majority. He was against it, but was advised to sign the legislation and claim it.)

Putin is telling / encouraging Trump to pick a fight with China!

JUST THINK ABOUT IT.

Is it not in Russia's interest to have our stock market tumble, China turn to Russia for Soy Beans (as they have!), see to it that prices at Walmart sky-rocket, and HURT CHINA's economy . . . in one fell swoop??

Trump is playing into misguided Trade War actions and is overtly (even if he does not realize it) executing on Putin's plan to HURT BOTH THE US AND CHINA's economy!

Think about it.

He started it on a whim and refuses to back down because he can’t let himself look wrong.

But your version seems reasonable if Russia grows soybeans and produces other other stuff China wants. At the very least Putin wants chaos in, and between, other countries.
