The OUN B-UPA actually collaborated with the Nazis earlier in the war.

There's also that massacre of thousands of Poles that they participated in.

I'm sure some of them were "very fine people".

I'm a Buddhist. One day you and I shall die, and the only thing we will take with us is our mind. If I die with a hate-filled mind, I shall take that hatred with me into the next life and create more obstacles, difficulties, and suffering for me and others. So I practice now in my current lifetime to have a contented and peaceful mind. Too bad for that guy. He died suddenly with no opportunity to make peace with the people in his life.

The Dhammapada (first part)

We are what we think.
All that we are arises with our thoughts.
With our thoughts we make the world.
Speak or act with an impure mind
And trouble will follow you
As the wheel follows the ox that draws the cart.
We are what we think.
All that we are arises with our thoughts.
With our thoughts we make the world.
Speak or act with a pure mind
And happiness will follow you
As your shadow, unshakable.
"Look how he abused me and hurt me,
How he threw me down and robbed me."
Live with such thoughts and you live in hate.
"Look how he abused me and hurt me,
How he threw me down and robbed me."
Abandon such thoughts, and live in love.
In this world
Hate never yet dispelled hate.
Only love dispels hate.
This is the law,
Ancient and inexhaustible.
You too shall pass away.
Knowing this, how can you quarrel?

But it's hard when people

/nations are being slaughtered and ethnically cleansed like it's the Old Testament and despots and dictators rule. America, the last bastion of the Beacon of Light/The Statue of Liberty, now stands for "get the hell out...the doors are closed. Go back to where you belong"

In the meantime, do we just hunker down and read our preferred holy book? This is rhetorical, but I'd prefer to be in the Himalayas chanting and reading the Dhammapada.

We really can only change our own thinking and behaviors. Using force to make people behave the way you want them to is the antithesis of peace. We are not helpless. The path to changing the world is to begin by changing ourselves.

due to climate change.

But my life today matters. I've been Buddhist for 20 years. Kind of like "Jesus is coming soon" 2,000 years ago. Finding peace, changing ourselves still doesn't put food on the table of our fellow earthlings or pull bullets from their carcases. I know it's a highly debated subject...but it's the activism vs. the Peace folk. Truly, I've chosen the latter, but mourn the current downturn of civilization.

but Svoboda had less than 5% support in the last election, and therefore no national representation and little influence on the Ukrainian democracy. Calling the Ukrainian government a "regime", btw, is a core characterization by the Putin government.

Now let's get back to enjoying the video.

They did get rid of "Yats," as Victoria Kagan affectionally called him, after two years (mainly due to EU pressure); but the choice showed their leanings, at least in the early years.

The Poroshenko regime have changed for the better since then in that regard, and that's both good and smart of them.

Remember: the enemy of one's enemy isn't necessarily our friend.

That's exactly what's gotten us into foreign policy trouble in the past.
