Grab your hankies, DUers... This is gonna be a real tear-jerker

(this was re-posted in several twitter feeds again today and though it is from August, I guess we can never experience ENOUGH schadenfreude vis-a-vis the NRA....!)

Edited to include link to complaint (where this claim is made) filed in Federal Court, Northern District NY:

I think that the Russian Federation provided the services of troll farms, propaganda script writers, and graphic artists, and purchased air time and ad buys on behalf of the NRA in order to push the propaganda. But why would Putin give unrestricted cash to the NRA? He's much too greedy to give away money.

So now the NRA has a cash problem.

for media liability.

What will really be great is when some victim of an irresponsible or hateful gunner -- likely an ignorant white wing trumpster, but could be others -- sues the rube and the NRA for complicity.

Were is not for NRA, we'd be well on way of ameliorating gun problems. We'll never solve the problem completely; but every decade we do nothing, puts another 100 million on our streets that we will have to deal with at some point. Don't believe that more people walking around with a gun or two strapped to their bodies will help.

Shoot, the NRA's new President is Ollie North. The previous one was an admitted white supremacist.

Sorry for the rant, been eating too much pie.

https://www.irmi.com/term/insurance-definitions/media-liability-coverage

Definition
A type of errors and omissions (E&O) liability insurance designed for publishers, broadcasters, and other media-related firms. The policies are typically written on a named perils basis and cover the following broad areas: defamation, invasion of privacy, infringement of copyright, and plagiarism.

Like business insurance, I'd guess different entities decide how much risk they want to accept to determine whether they are insured and if so, to what extent....

Also, looks like free speech could actually be costly under the right circumstances.

There are gun nut groups that are much crazier than NRA, and they’re taking over. Larry Pratt’s Gun Owners of America is a big one.
