"I'm a Democrat. It's what we do."

So we recently had some concrete work done on our garage floor, which was badly cracked due to settling. It was a nicely done job. My husband and I were standing outside later on when a pickup truck drove in, and it was one of the workers. He jumped out and told us his boss had paid him $163 in cash and he had lost it! He had gone to get air in his tires and realized it was gone. We all 3 started looking around all in the yard, his truck, to no avail. The man was near tears. I couldn't stand it. I had just been to the ATM so I went in and got $60 and brought it out to him. He was back in the truck by then. He said, "Oh, no. I can't take that." I dropped it in his lap and said. "It's all right. I'm a Democrat. It's what we do. If you find your money, you can pay me back." He finally took it. Am I a sucker as my trumpian cousin says? Maybe so, but it still felt good to do that!

you happy. Good karma is created all around.

Generosity is one of the 10 perfections in Buddhism

The ten perfections in the Theravada tradition are (1) generosity (dāna), (2) morality (sīla), (3) renunciation (nekhamma), (4) insight (pañña), (5) energy (viriya), (6) patience (khanti), (7) truthfulness (sacca), (8) resolution (adhiṭṭhāna), (9) loving-kindness (metta), and (10) equanimity (upekkhā .F

They are what Democrats do

Security. Kindness. Generosity. Comfort.

Those who just hoard things while others suffer are afraid. Now I’ll admit to a little of that fear and an appreciation of ease myself, but I would have helped too. I do often. Probably not as much as I should, but I try.

Conservatism has lost its mind. It’s miserism now. It’s mean, greedy, unfeeling and stupid. It creates misery and then piles up more stuff to protect itself from the outgrowth. That cannot go on forever.

defines the very essence of predatory capitalism. The word 'conservative' is used by some to describe themselves as being above everyone else, when in fact, they are behaving worse than everyone else. Run the deficits up, take away rights, etc. Remember, this is the party of 'NO' during the Obama years. They used the word 'conservative' to describe themselves nicely, when in fact, it's a sick use of the word, in denying all evidence to the contrary of global climate change, pass tax laws that vastly benefit the 1%ers (and not us), and use identity politics to split the country apart. Conservatives indeed. A joke, all of them.

sometimes can't resist seeing him go off! You should hear him when I talk about giving money to homeless people (which I routinely do) or supporting certain charities. Surprisingly though, we never discuss trump et al. That would take us into territory from which we might never recover. I do love him and vice versa. Our mothers were sisters.

People like to misquote the adage that the LOVE Of money is the root of all evil. They say money is the root of all evil not even aware of the mistake.

A generous person like you uses money to spread more generosity. Forget the idiots who try to wag the finger of their left hand trying to make you look stupid while gladly take your money with the other hand.

Fuckem!

We focus so much on the glaring examples of how money amplifies the worst in some people. It’s good to remember that money, in the right hands, can be used to do good and ease suffering in this world.

Be thankful that, for whatever reasons, that you have ended up as you have ended up. I say to smile and rejoice, and be thankful you're not like 'them'.

You've attained a level of humaness not many do.

Can you imagine being one of those sad, droll people would look upon your wonderful act of humanity, and what humanity is possible of, and thinking that what you did was a stupid thing, a bad thing, AND THINKING THAT THEY ARE SUPERIOR AND SMARTER THAN YOU.

As so many do, sigh.

You seem to be asking if your act was good one, a smart one, that you aren't naive. Gosh, I just want to thank you. And tell you that this old world sorely needs more such actions. That not only what you did was okay, but that it was lovely. Wonderful. Epic. Affirming.

And never, NEVER! again wonder about such things. AND MOST OF ALL, NEVER AGAIN WORRY WHAT SOMEONE ELSE THINKS OF YOU AND YOUR ACTIONS.

Because you have attained a level of humanity they can not fathom.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
