Stewart got over 40% in what has become a blue state. That's frightening if not surprising.

Must be all that economic anxiety.

2. What's wrong with a school whose mission statement sounds like it was written by ISIS?

What is Liberty University’s mission statement?

At Liberty University, students are encouraged to follow God’s calling and develop the skills and values they need to make a difference in the world once they graduate, according to the school’s mission statement. The university emphasizes a Christian worldview and aims to provide students with a foundation in the liberal arts. Students, per the mission statement, are encouraged to remain committed to their Christian faith and to live that out in their lives. Liberty University's website states that the school is "committed to Training Champions for Christ."

Just substitute "Muslim" for "Christian" and see how quickly that university burns.

They need to learn how to tie a hangmans noose, gerrymander an election and keep women in the kitchen.

of degreed (is that de-greed?) personnel to place into the DOJ and other agencies.

The rot within the government (federal/state/local) started decades ago. While the liberals (me included) were talking about "well rounded" education.

5. The white evangelical movement

started in response to the civil rights movement, to defend, protect and maintain white supremacy and segregation. Falwell was one of the main proponents of that, as his son, the current head of "Liberty" University, is today and is continuing that "tradition." What Falwell meant by his whole "moral majority" horseshit was nothing more than the fierce defense of white supremacy and the days when whites could oppress, harass and segregate blacks and other non-white with impunity. He was a horrible man, like most of the other evangelical leaders, and his son is no better and his university is no better. The "liberty" and "freedom" they're talking about is freedom to hate and discriminate to their heart's content, with no consequences.

I'm a Christian who just graduated from a very liberal, progressive ecumenical seminary and my classmates (and now fellow alums) and I have had many an argument with these types of people. And you should see their heads explode, and their steadfast childish denials, when told that Jesus wasn't white and none of the biblical people were white. Religion, to them, is more a matter of power, control and imperialistic dominance than anything else.

6. People like you will need to challenge the evangelical right.

People like me (deist), agnostics and atheists won't make a dent there because we don't rely on scripture like you do. The situation is like decent republicans will need to rip their party from the grasps of deplorables, democrats are non factors in that struggle.
