With the news about Manafort lying to FBI and Mueller, both additional felonies,

and Trump having just submitted his SWORN answers to Mueller's written questions, I'll bet it would take the Budweiser Clydesdales to pull a lubed needle out of Dear Leader's bung hole.

Seems like Trump fell face first into a perjury trap and Mueller didn't even need to be there. Hilarious.

He'll be stepping on all those rakes that weren't used to clean up the forests.

However, he is at least an object lesson for anyone else who might be tempted to lie to the investigators to get a better plea deal (that would be you, Corsi and Stone). Also, once they sorted the truth from the lies, chances are they did get information that was useful in leading to other information.

This has really hurt Mueller.

He lost a star witness central to conclusion.

In retrospect, it seems to me that Manafort could have "flipped" and gained access to key details and then leaked it back out to Trump.

Always counting on the pardon.

Manafort is guilty of state crimes that Trump can’t pardon.

As for the rest. It baffles me that anyone thinks this is good news.

then Trump probably used them in his written answers to Mueller. If Mueller has evidence that Manafort was lying and if Trump's answers match up with Manafort's lies, then they have Trump on perjury and obstruction. Slam Dunk.

That's the rush to see what we want, I'm afraid. How hot are right. That would be 3D chess, but it sounds like Manafort knew that Mueller had doubts. He was given chances to change his answers.

If so, manafort knows Mueller wasnt buying it. Thus trump knows too.

Trump on the other hand, may have been learning from Manafort all of the evidence that Mueller was using to guide Manafort through testifying.

Hopefully, i'm wrong.

If he has other evidence on paper...
And from what I read here, manaforts charges are mostly pardon proof at this point.

... it's about what opportunities may be hurting Mueller as a result. And I get the sense that this iua much more bad than good for Mueller.

There may be a damage mitigation play for Mueller, but this made things worse, not better, I suspect.

I've got to think they have planned for this kind of contingency... considering they were working with such a dishonest asshole. I guess we'll see.
