The Fall Guy (And Gal).....

as Baroni and Kelly head to jail for doing Chris Christie's dirty work. I'm not sure how I feel about this after the passage of time. What these two did was pretty messed up, but oddly pales in comparison to the misdeeds of Trump and his band of treasonous pirates. There's also the issue of these two knuckleheads paying the price while Christie skated free. But never forget the depravity of "time for some traffic problems in Fort Lee" or "is it wrong that I'm smiling?". In retrospect, I feel a little sorry for Mr. Baroni and Ms. Kelly but they made their choices. This wasn't even close to the worst of things that Christie did while governor, but it is some modicum of justice. Now if only Mr. Christie could be made to face the music.....

Ex-Christie associates likely face jail after Bridgegate appeal denied

A federal appeals court today upheld a major part of the convictions of two members of former Gov. Chris Christie's inner circle in the high-profile Bridgegate scandal of political retribution that played out five years ago on the world's busiest bridge.

However, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit in Philadelphia threw out a part of the case dealing with civil rights violations against the two former Christie associates.

The ruling will likely mean that both Bill Baroni and Bridget Kelly will now face prison. Both have remained free since their trial pending the appeal.

In its 78-page ruling, the court said federal prosecutors presented evidence sufficient to prove that the two fraudulently obtained the labor of public employees, and in a harsh rebuke, said there was no "legitimate justification" for Baroni and Kelly's conduct.

A spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's office said it was "reviewing the opinion and is grateful for the court's consideration of all of the issues raised in the appeal."

Didn't someone die in the back of an ambulance due to this temper tantrum? Either that, or was waiting for one. They should already be in prison, and forfeit their personal properties to the family of the dead, I believe woman.

Republicans don't think long term.

Who's been paying Bridgette Kelly's legal bills? Single mom without a job? High powered DC appeals lawyers don't come cheap nor did her trial counsel Mr. Critchley.
