No Surprise: Women Sleep Better With Dogs By Their Side Instead Of Human Partners, Study Shows

Dog-Loving Ladies, did you doubt it for a moment? LOL

Women Sleep Better With Dogs By Their Side Instead Of Human Partners, Study Shows
https://newyork.cbslocal.com/2018/11/27/women-sleep-better-with-dogs-study/
--snip--
In a survey of 962 women living in the U.S., 55 percent sleep with at least one dog and 31 percent sleep with at least one cat by their side. Additionally, 57 percent shared their bed with a human partner.

The study found that dogs who slept with their female owners were found to disturb less sleep than a human counterpart and provided stronger feelings of comfort and security. Dog owners were also found to go to bed earlier and keep a stricter sleep schedule.

“Dog ownership and its associated responsibilities may cause individuals to adhere to a stricter routine,” the study found. “Keeping to a consistent sleep schedule may be beneficial to dog owners.”

Sorry, cat people...
On the flip side, cats were reported to be equally disruptive as human partners and were associated with weaker feelings of comfort and security compared to dogs or humans.

can definitely say I feel more at ease when a dog is sleeping with me. My brother had this one Golden Retriever that used to spoon w/ me and gently wake me up in the morning by licking my face. He was so sweet and cuddly!

I have slept over at cat owner's houses and it was awful. The cats are up all night crawling all over you, kneading your chest or digging their claws into you and making all kinds of noise. I avoid it now whenever possible.

That chihuahua will dig and dig for a spot right under your bum or crotch (depending on which side you sleep on).
