Associates indicted, convicted or pleading guilty could grow longer

Something had the president agitated this morning, so he pulled out an irrefutable argument to convince everyone that the Russia investigation is a giant witch hunt: What about all my associates who aren’t criminals, and all the crimes we didn’t commit? ...

You no doubt recall that when John Gotti pointed out that his tailor never once iced a guy and dumped his body in the Pine Barrens, and his gardener had never been accused of running a brutal loan sharking business, prosecutors immediately concluded that Gotti was an innocent man and dropped all the charges they had brought against him.

Just kidding — that never happened, and I’m pretty sure that when special counsel Robert S. Mueller III sees this, he won’t say, “The president makes a good point. I guess it’s time to shut this investigation down.”

It’s not immediately clear what caused the president to offer up this lamest of defenses, but it may have to do with the fact that Mueller looks like he’s about to obtain either another indictment against or another guilty plea from someone around President Trump, the author and conspiracy theorist Jerome Corsi ...
