13. Yearlong televised hearings by the Democratic House, revealing much that is not yet known...

Remember, when the Senate Watergate hearings began, Nixon enjoyed majority approval ratings.

By the time enough dirty laundry was aired, his approval had dropped into the mid-30s, and he was barely above water among Republicans. At that point, his own party abandoned him in Congress, trying to save their own skins. Think that can't happen? Remember how quickly establishment Republicans tried to jettison him after the "pussygrabber" tape. They're only sticking with Trump because they figure he can give some public heft to their wishlist. If he sinks much further, they could well decide they'd do just as well with Pence doing their bidding.

It would take some careful stage-managing by the Democratic committee chairs, but such a P.R. hit may be possible again, particularly if it isn't just a rehashing of what we already know. Say, what happens if Congress subpoenas Trump's tax returns, and it turns out he's been on the Russian payroll far more deeply than has been suspected? Or, better yet, that he's been such since before the fall of the U.S.S.R.?

I think next year is going to be very interesting...

If you mean Republicans you would need to agree to convict in an Impeachment trial, yes, it's 20. You won't get them.

5. Impeachment occurs in the House

Conviction occurs in the Senate. So he may be impeached, but he likely won't be convicted and removed.

9. No, it still has to go through the process

For something that bad, impeachment in the House will go through. The question is if you can find enough votes in the Senate. That is a crapshoot. Several will vote to convict, but we don't know. I'm sure Susan Collins will be "concerned" and "troubled", then won't vote to convict. I really don't think you can find the 20 to convict. And the hearings are not a quick process.

Any police trying to arrest Trump would be stopped by the Secret Service, who would legally neutralize them by any means necessary. It still would have to go through the long impeachment process and trial, unless he resigns first.

If Trump is impeached, it takes 67 votes to convict, so yes we need 20 Republicans to vote "Yes" but that's not as easy as it sounds.

He may never get to Trump, but some good is coming out of all this.

before it's over. Hope for the best.. prepare for the worst.

At least we have the HOUSE through everybody's incredibly hard work including Nancy Pelosi.

Anything can happen in the next two years and hopefully it will involve Kicking trump out the door by any means necessary.

do you think it is possible to find 20 Republicans IN THE COUNTRY who would vote to oust their wholly-corrupt-but-still-"our" preznit and regime?

They don't give an f--- about democracy or morality or justice or anything else; they only care about power. Theirs.

I've said it before. The only way out of this is through.

Faster than you could ask them to. The reason why is quite simple:

They're ALL ratfuckers, at their core. And if that means fucking one of their own rats, well, what is that to them?
