SUVs might be new..

Not big NASCAR Fan - but - who cares?

Do you have a point - or did you just feel a need to disparage someone?

So there might not be any cars left for NASCAR.

Actually, Ford is switching to Mustang (in name and bumper graphics only)

in development worldwide. Jaguar is heading up an all-electric SUV racing category to operate as a support class for the FormulaE electric open-wheel championships.

Lamborghini is creating a manufacturer series to race their new Urus SUV in Europe and the Middle East.

And the hillbillies in NASCAR have been racing pickups in circles forever. The one truth about motor vehicles is that if it exists, somebody is racing it somewhere.

The ones that are strictly passenger cars. People have been racing anything that moves forever. Nascar will have to change a lot of rules if there are no passenger cars to race? That was mostly my point. But we can get use to it if it changes. Aerodynamics will surely be an issue. Flip overs and such?

Are you kidding? They are raced to sell cars to the public. Your picking?

It will remain mostly the same. Ford is keeping the Mustang and Focus models, both of which are passenger cars.

And, as others have pointed out, NASCAR has been racing pickups for a VERY long time.

It's model is failing to pack audiences in, and TV coverage is fading of NASCAR events.

I'm not sure what they'll try, but I suspect that the time has passed for its business model, frankly.
