I am not worried about Bernie Sanders age.. if he decides to run

Because if he plans on running on the Democratic ticket.. he will have to join the party.. and that is that.. no end running on the outside.. and since he is who he is.. a total independent.. he will not run.. because if he ran as an Indy only.. he does not get the nomination.. the infrastructure is just not there..and he will assure a Trump 2nd term.. and I do not think he wants that.. That is the last thing he wants..and I cannot see Hillary running again.. nothing to do with age.. its just not in the stars for her either..But I think Biden could do it..so this is not an op about age.. but timing..

To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven:

1. So, it will be the third time in the last two years he becomes a party member? No.

That does not work for me as a life time member of the Democratic Party.

Excellent observation. You know... we deserve loyalty to the party, someone who'll stay committed, someone who will support the party... not this on-again/off-again game of footsie.

I want to elect a Democrat. That is not a tough concept.

2. I doubt that sanders will be running

I think that sanders' recent comments are all in connection with his recent book which is getting bad reviews. As is normal, sanders is trying to generate media coverage to help book sales. I suspect that if book sales and reviews continue to be bad, sanders will be making some more controversial claims

In addition to the DNC rules, sanders will have to release 5 to 10 years tax returns to comply with ballot access laws in a couple of blue states. I personally would love to see these tax returns which is why I doubt that sanders will run

4. We need to all be sobered by the typically NARROW victory

margins both parties have had in this century.

Political scientists expect this to continue for some while, with power possibly thrown from one party to another in election after election in a very destabilizing and undermining manner.

Therefore I say: ANY candidate who runs a splinter or third-party campaign from the left in this environment IS, by definition and de facto, willing to accept continued Republican hold on power as an alternative to winning.

That wasn't a new reality in 2016, and it won't be in 2020. Third party input could be a plus back in the New Deal and early Reagan eras. It's a recipe for national destruction in this one.

Witness post 2016.

6. Most who get elected are much younger.

Only 3 of the 45 presidents have been over 65 when taking office. 34 of the 45 have been 58 or younger.

Sanders won't get nominated. Age is just 1 reason why.

It is actually not on my list of things that I do not like about Bernie Sanders as candidate for President.

then he bales to become an independent again. I've got no use for that kind of 'loyalty'.
