Cry me a river (go on and just)
Cry me a river (go on and just)
Cry me a river (baby, go on and just)
Cry me a river
Oh!
The damage is done, so I guess I be leaving

If crying will get it done...your leaving, that is, ... I've got my box of Kleenex ready.

Sometimes, I do write song parodies.

My Favorite Things

Grand Jury hearings and subpoenas serving.
Bright shiny badges and federal attorneys.
Brown-papered law firms all tied up with strings.
These are a few of my favorite things.

Judicial hearings and pending indictments.
Perp walks and plea deals and flop sweat emerging.
Russians and Saudis that unsheath their stings
These are a few of my favorite things.

Muellers and lawyers all digging up scandals.
Laws being broken by high-placed officials.
Lies and deceptions from Presidents and kings.
These are a few of my favorite things.

Chorus:
When the crooks cry.
When they fear bad things.
When Trump's feeling sad.
I simply remember my favorite things,
And then I start feeling glad.

I like musicals (stage and on film), but personally 'Evita' and other stuff by Andrew Lloyd Webber hasn't aged particularly well. He incorporates and a lot of rock/pop stylings that were cool at the time (70s and then 80s) but date them.

However, based on what I've read, Webber and his writing partner Tim Rice picked Evita Peron as a subject because of the turbulent 1970s political scene (Watergate, Vietnam, etc.). So, even though it is about events that happened decades earlier, it is a bit of a cultural time capsules of public anxieties of the time is was made.

Interesting, Rice (without Weber) next tackled the U.S-Soviet Union relationship in his 80s musical 'Chess'.

I liked it, but it's probably a little too slow-moving and cerebral for a lot of people. The soundtrack for it is on my cell phone. I think you are the first person I've ever seen mention "Chess" online, so congratulations on your knowledge.

I think the only other musical of theirs I've seen live was Jesus Christ Superstar. My wife and I saw the last performance with Ted Neeley doing the Jesus role on stage. He couldn't hit the really high notes anymore, so they dubbed them in from a recording. Kind of sad, really.

A lot of the musicals I've seen have been from the orchestra pit, doubling on assorted woodwinds for amateur and semi-pro productions. It's sort of a fun way to watch, and you get to see the play multiple times, which really lets you know it intimately. As a young fellow, I got to play the role of Rolf in "Sound of Music" in a little theater production. My only time on stage in a musical. Fun times.
