Nebraska Humane Society is taking adoption applications for rescued Samoyeds

By Nancy Gaarder

The Nebraska Humane Society has begun taking adoption applications for the Samoyed dogs that were rescued from an Iowa puppy mill.

Both puppies and adults are available. The fee has not yet been set and will most likely vary by dog, said Pam Wiese, spokeswoman for the Humane Society.

The Humane Society has 18 of the estimated 170 dogs that authorities found in dirty and dilapidated kennels near Manly, Iowa.

Wiese cautioned that the dogs have been traumatized by kennel life and will need special owners and the right living environment.
