Does he get to head up a "Citizen's Council?" Or maybe become a Grand Wizard of the ... well, you know.
Then again, he may run for his old Senate seat. After all, this is Alabama we're talking about. In much of America, he'd be regarded as damaged goods. But not in Alabama where he's a good ole boy hero.
Can he win? Well, what about that horrible female racist creature who just won next door in Mississippi? Seems that much of the South never changes. Most (and definitely not all) would rather vote for their hatreds, than their own well being. And until that changes, these states will continue to be financial/educational basket cases.

(15,056 posts)I saw a report a little while ago where a Republican leader in Alabama stated that Sessions might not even win the primary.
I figured he would win easily. I guess we will see.

(3,259 posts)Put his name on the ballot and it's over. The history of electoral love for him is clear. I don't see how he has lost one bit of that.

(15,027 posts)No decent human being could live this down. Ever. But then, perhaps Alabama, Mississippi, and far too many other places are not the America that most of us believe we live in in.

(10,721 posts)Sessions will be 74, so I'm not sure he'll run. But if he does, someone even more extreme (hard to imagine) may seriously challenge him in the primary.
Either way, Doug Jones is in danger of losing.

(3,259 posts)In Alabama Sessions is bigger than Trump.
I bet there are a lot of extreme Republicans(redundant) hoping Session doesn't come home to run.
Jones benefited from the perfect storm. I really like Jones and think he is an excellent representative for them. We have to run strong no matter who they throw at us just in the name of the long game. Tides are changing all over the country. In some states it will be a long time. Alabama is one of them.

(14,886 posts)his next job will be a little like that... or maybe he'll have to work in the laundry like Andy did at first. I doubt the warden would use him as an accountant, and he seems too old to work on the roof.
