In my life the greatest Villain has been disease

I've been diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. I lost a husband to heart disease at age 39. I've lost two very close friends to cystic fibrosis, who passed in their 20's and a father in-law to Alzheimer disease who died two weeks ago.

I just don't understand why people are afraid of other people especially anyone different from them. I think if we all looked at our lives and really assessed our loss we're going to find it probably wasn't due to the other and how much time has been wasted being fearful of the bogey man.

I was lucky enough to beat Renal Cell Carcinoma 10 years ago...but I live in fear of it coming back for round 2 constantly...

My mother has beat back Cancer 4 times in the last 15 years and is still with us today.

I'm hoping for all the best for you...

I think just surviving is a difficult thing to do and I wish we'd all recognize and be more mindful of that.
