might get rattled by.
Jeffrey Epstein, the child rapist living in Florida (more than 100 victims), faces another civil trial next Tuesday. His criminal worries disappeared when he got off with an incredibly light sentence from a prosecutor named Alex Acosta -- who went on to join Trumps Cabinet. Interestingly, Trump was one of the men who were implicated in Epsteins sex parties. In 2016 a woman named Katie Johnson sued Trump, saying he raped her at an Epstein party when she was 13. She even had another witness, a woman who was present at the party. But Johnson withdrew her lawsuit a few days before the election, saying she was afraid.
I cant wait for it to come out that Katie Johnson was one of the women Cohen paid off.
(And please don't be misled by the word "prostitute" in the stories. 13, 14, and 15 year old teens aren't prostitutes. They're victims, who were targeted. Epstein paid his young "friends" to lure their own friends to his parties. So every victim led to 3 or 4 more high school or middle school students.)

Facing a 53-page federal indictment, Epstein could have ended up in federal prison for the rest of his life.
But on the morning of the breakfast meeting, a deal was struck an extraordinary plea agreement that would conceal the full extent of Epsteins crimes and the number of people involved.
Not only would Epstein serve just 13 months in the county jail, but the deal called a non-prosecution agreement essentially shut down an ongoing FBI probe into whether there were more victims and other powerful people who took part in Epsteins sex crimes, according to a Miami Herald examination of thousands of emails, court documents and FBI records.
The pact required Epstein to plead guilty to two prostitution charges in state court. Epstein and four of his accomplices named in the agreement received immunity from all federal criminal charges. But even more unusual, the deal included wording that granted immunity to any potential co-conspirators who were also involved in Epsteins crimes. These accomplices or participants were not identified in the agreement, leaving it open to interpretation whether it possibly referred to other influential people who were having sex with underage girls at Epsteins various homes or on his plane.
As part of the arrangement, Acosta agreed, despite a federal law to the contrary, that the deal would be kept from the victims. As a result, the non-prosecution agreement was sealed until after it was approved by the judge, thereby averting any chance that the girls or anyone else might show up in court and try to derail it.

(6,831 posts)There have been dozens of allegations (both of beatings and sexual assault) regarding the children being held in cages at these inhuman detention centers. Children as young as five have been physically abused. In some cases, by older, more sexually-mature boys, who were well-know by the "guards" to be predatory. Nothing has been done to segregate these younger children and protect them from the abuse and assault.
Every time I hear Kristjen Nielson (Secretary of Homeland Security) say that these children are not being placed in dangerous situations, I want to lunge at her neck right through the goddam screen. ANYONE who thinks that ripping innocent children from their mothers' arms and placing them in cages is a good idea needs to visit the guillotine. ANYONE who thinks that gassing unarmed men, women and children is a good idea needs to be put on permanent duty at the morgue.

(9,350 posts)Even if it comes out that Donald Trump raped a 13 year old girl his supporters will not care. They only care about things like that when the politician is a Democrat. Remember Roy Moore? Republicans made excuses for him. They claimed it was normal for a 35 year old man to try to date a teenage girl. I think they said something about how a 30+ year old lawyer would have been seen as a catch to a Southern girl and her family. I think they also said that due to poverty in the South and the fact that girls could not support families, getting your teenage daughter married to a 31 year old man was seen as something to do in order to not have the family destroyed by poverty.
I can only imagine what Trump supporters will say about Trump sleeping with a 13 year old girl. They will once again blame the girl and her family. They will claim the girl and her family probably saw Trump as a way to riches. They will likely go as far as to say that the girl and her family set up Trump. They will claim poor Trump was tricked into have sex with the 13 year old and the girl and her family threaten Trump so they could get millions of dollars. They will make Trump into the real victim. If they do not take the route of blaming the girl and her family they will claim Trump was the ultimate catch. They will ask the question, what family would not want their 13 year old daughter to date and marry a 30 something/40 something year old billionaire. I would not be surprised if Trump supporter claimed the only surprising thing about this story is that there are not more 13 year old girls who tried to have sex with and marry Donald Trump due to everything he had to offer a 13 year old girl. I also would not be surprised if they said that a 13 year old girl would have seen Trump, the handsome billionaire, as a sexy catch.
If you are expecting Trump having sex with a 13 year old to cause Trump's supporters to turn on him you need to stop. We have seen this before and they did not do such a thing in the past. They will not do it in this case. They will do the same as and more than they did with Roy Moore. They will either claim Trump would have been regarded as a catch by any family with a teenage daughter, or they will claim Trump is the real victim in that clearly this girl and her family saw Trump's riches and decided to do whatever they had to do to get those riches.
I may be wrong, but I do not expect to see Trump having sex with a 13 year old turn away his supporters. They have stood with him through everyting else. I do not see the turning away it turns out to be true that he slept with a 13 year old. Trump knew his supporters better than we thought. They will stick with him through just about everything.

I don't know why you are minimizing what he was accused of. It wasn't "sleeping" and it wasn't "having sex." It wasn't even "underage sex."
What she alleged was a forceful rape of a child. If it turns out that Cohen paid her off, and got her to sign an hush money agreement, I think Trump's supporters will start to desert him.

(9,350 posts)Trump was right about his supporters. They will support him through anything. I am not minimizing what he did. I believe at one point I mentioned that he raped the girl. However, you are fooling yourself if you truly think his supporters will ever turn their backs on him for raping a child. Trump's supporters do not care about what he does in his personal life.

(14,153 posts)But there is another way that Trumpsters 'handle' scandal like this. About half won't even care how many underage girls he raped. But the other half will just listen to the first RW liar host to come on air and say she is making it all up. That she is being paid by Soros and Hillary and the Democratic Deep State.
Either way, they will find a way to either deny or excuse.
Silver Gaia
(4,514 posts)This is very different from having a relationship with an underage girl. Some of his most hardcore supporters may stick with him, but I think many would be disgusted and horrified by this, enough to make a difference. I have always thought this. That is one thing Donald Trump and possibly all Republican can count on happening. The Republican base will make everything into a plot to take down Donald Trump and the Republican Party. I would not be surprised if some Republicans tried to claim that the girl and her family were being paid by George Soros all along.

Court files document long-running ties between Epstein and the former president. Bill Clinton flew on at least six trips with Epstein and his entourage in 2002 and 2003 including to international destinations such as Paris, Bangkok and Brunei, according to logs kept by one of Epsteins pilots.

To date, no documentary evidence has emerged to show that Clinton ever got near Epsteins island home, and the U.S. Secret Service, in response to Freedom of Information Act requests, says it has no records of its agents traveling there in the years after Clinton left office.

In the affidavit, Roberts claimed that Epstein and Maxwell directed her to have sex with Andrew and Dershowitz and others. She had sex with Andrew three times, she alleged once in London, when she was 17, again in New York, when she was 17, and a third time, as part of an orgy on Epsteins island, when she was 18. By law, at 17, she would have been above the age of consent in New York and England, but not in Florida, where the age of consent is 18.
As part of the affidavit, Roberts furnished a photograph of her with the prince and Maxwell, which she said was taken in London.
Dershowitz, who was part of Epsteins criminal defense team, was often a guest at Epsteins homes, she said.
I had sexual intercourse with Dershowitz at least six times, Roberts wrote in the 2015 court affidavit. The first time was when I was about 16, early on in my servitude to Epstein and it continued until I was 19. She detailed some of those trysts, which she said happened at Epsteins homes in Palm Beach, New Mexico and on Epsteins island.
One of Epsteins housemen, Juan Alessi, testified in a 2009 sworn deposition that Dershowitz visited Epsteins Palm Beach home four or five times a year. He said that Roberts was a frequent visitor as well, but he never placed Dershowitz and Roberts at the house at the same time.

Not one of Mr. Epsteins victims was initially informed of the nonprosecution agreement, whose terms called for it to be kept secret. It was not until afterward that victims and their lawyers learned that no federal prosecutions against Mr. Epstein would be initiated. The secret deal prompted two of the victims, identified in court records as Jane Doe 1 and Jane Doe 2, to sue the government, claiming that the agreement had violated the federal Crime Victims Rights Act, which grants victims the right to be informed of crucial steps during a prosecution, such as plea negotiations. (Ms. Wild is Jane Doe 1, according to The Herald.)
Bradley J. Edwards, the lawyer representing Ms. Wild and other victims, wrote in a court filing that had the women known about the nonprosecution agreement, they would have taken steps to object to the deal, perhaps appearing in person to appeal to the judge to reject it. The victims rights case, which began in 2008, is still pending. Mr. Edwards did not respond to an interview request on Thursday.
